Look at Larry bird a freaking nba legend but he didn't want it bad enough so he left iu and didn't win a NCAA championship and who did win 2 years after this happened? Iu because the players had the want to, drive, compassion for the game, and thick skinned

Are you saying Bird didn't win a championship because he "didn't want to"? Seriously?
IU is recruiting Indiana....
Jalen Coleman, Caleb Swanigan, Eron Gordon, Kyle Guy, Hyron Edwards

Too be honest, the next few classes in Indiana aren't as strong as the last few has been so if you want IU to recruit the best and recruit Indiana, you're pretty limited to the names above. You can't field an elite team with just players from Indiana right now.
I started a thread based on this same opinion a while back. The elite talent isn't as concentrated in Indiana as it has been if the ranking services are to be believed.

Or he didn't like the 30,000 student enrollment that was IU at the time. I could be wrong, but I read that in his book.....so probably not. He's also been documented as one of the most competitive athletes in history that led the Celtics to multiple titles with him and tiny (especially at the time) Indiana State undefeated to the title. So I'd say he had the want-to factor to succeed.

Oh "competitive" equals want-to, drive, desire, etc.

Does know like bob knight on here? He didn't want it bad enough to go undefeated in 76 at iu!! Instead of getting beat by Msu in 79.

Yeah, he didn't adjust well.  RMK admitted he could've done more to help too.

Benedict Benson being a dick probably didn't help matters.

"Want to" had nothing to do with it.  He was from a small town and didn't adjust well to being on a campus the size of IU.

For Indiana to compete at a high level we have to get two to three top recruits from indiana plan an simply. Tht is half the reason butler got on the map cause Steven was pullin indiana kids tht crean was passing up. Indiana kids knw basketball an knw how to compete an knw what it takes. Crean isn't going to be able to recruit good enough going all over the country recruiting at the state of our program is. But if he would stick to indiana an show tht they can compete with the best. Better out of state kids will follow an want to play with a successful program just like when coach knight was here. Don't knw y crean waste his time with kids so far from indiana ya some kids have there own dream but 75% or higher kids from indiana tht grow up here live an bread IU basketball. But tht being said they also want to compete at a high level an be at the top like we once where
