Haha did you see this year when CTC got ticked at Jeremy for not enough intensity and he made him take the ball out after every score ..so he had to run the whole floor ..there you go!In the gym

Love this. Smart move by coach. Didnt help in long run. Seems to me Jeremy Hollowell was a total recruiting miss. Never had the attitude to succeed at a high level!

Im gonna leave it at this: there is a difference between a point guard and a ball handler. By your definition, you have qualified Jeremy Hollowell as a PG for IU this year.

NCAA and NBA heights are totally different and you know it.  We have a 6'11" superstar in Kevin Durant that can literally do everything.

Heights and athletic abilities are continuing to increase in the NBA.  In time, we'll have centers than can run the court and handle the ball (Thon Maker)
Many years ago I remember UofL had a 6'5" center named Wesley Cox. One hell of a good baller. That was pre Darrell Griffith days. Cox came from Male H.S in the Ville as well. Guy could flat sky.
It's Carl Landry I think that's been an NBA center for a while and he's 6'6.

Kudos.
A full year in the weight room. Devin will be that banger we need inside. Sometimes it's more about leverage/attitude instead of height.

I like my IU point guards to be quick as lightning, and to have an on-court glare that can cut you in half.

Isiah Thomas, and that fellow who is wearing #11

Wait, are you saying JH didn't have those qualities? Because I thought he was a dynamite PG.

I am knocking on wood right now...knock, knock, knock.  But I was really worried about DD before last season (i.e. Grades, attitude, etc.).

IMO, he has really proven himself and overachieved.  He may not have had stellar numbers as a freshman, but really had good contributing minutes.  I am really looking forward to his future development and hopefully he can stay on the path of righteousness.

I truly think thiks kid has promise and potential.

I get what you are saying, but to say he overachieved last season isn't giving him enough credit for what he is capable of. I was happy with his performance at the end of the season, but I EXPECT big big things out of him this year.

He showed some promise at times this past season, he has potential.

Nonetheless, i do understand your point, he's awfully small to be play the 4 or 5. These days, six foot six PG's are preferred (NBA , UK , )

He's definitely small, but didn't GR III end up playing the 4 for Michigan this year? And that seemed to work out ok for them. DD is certainly not the same kind of talent that Robinson is, but he's more physical on the low block and can be a better defender. He can play the 4 for IU against most teams.

I don't want Devin to focus on being able to play the three, I want him to focus on getting as strong as possible, running the court, defense and offensive moves in the paint.

If DD becomes a consistently solid or good 4, I won't feel AS nervous about front court play next year.

I want, and think, Davis can turn into a Kawahi Leonard (sp?), Jae Crowder, or that dude from the Nuggets type of player. (Please note "type of player")

He needs to rebound at a high level, defend multiple positions, and bring energy to the court. Developing a midrange game and continuing to work on his ball handling could create some nice mismatches on offense too.

Kenneth Faried is the guy from the Nuggets. That's the most realistic. Leonard is a really good 3 pt. shooter and I don't see Davis ever adding that. Plus Leonard is more of a guard than a big.

Are you implying he will end up with cornrows or dreads? That's what I picked up from this post.

That's him. I'm less concerned about him knocking down 3s (we should have plenty of shooters) and concentrating on him becoming the energy/glue guy. We heard there was a lack of communication on defense last season. Davis can fix a lot of that if he chooses.

Freakish athlete (Devin is above average. Great rebounder (Devin can if he chooses). And a glue guy that keeps everyone together (Also can be if he so chooses). I think eventually he will turn into that. Or something resembling it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
