I will take that job all day, everyday but I know I am known as coach but mainly at a grade school level. OK not mainly, only, but still I would accept. Now carry on being serious. I was dreaming for a minute.

Any truth to the Crean rumors to Tennessee?????

Maybe the Mike Woodson rumors were true from the beginning???[/quote]

Crean's too stubborn to just leave when his seat starts to warm up.

We're stuck with him, no one is going to pay that $10 billion buyout or whatever his contract had.

This will make 2 reunions for IU next year.

Butler and Etherington
Louisville and KJ

Now we just need match ups wit Marquette, Xavier, indiana Wesleyn and wherever Hollowell ends up. Does Roth have any eligibility left maybe we could get a matchup with him too. Lol.

I think UofL will have a giant upper hand, if they didn't already, when we play next year.  KJ knows everyone on our team, their strengths, their weaknesses, and he'll be able to point out good strategies for how top play against his former team.  I already figured we'd get beat, but now I'm almost certain.

Pitino > Crean and now Pitino w/ KJ >>>>>>>>> Crean (no comparison).

WE'LL GET BEAT BY 20+!!! DANG IT!!!  It's becoming very difficult to remain positive... :banghead:

good recruiter, yes, if the profile you're trying to fit is the unpolished athlete from an area that produces questionable characters

while it stinks Johnson sees the situation at UL as better than the situation at IU, I like that we have the opportunity to get someone who is better at X's and O's than Johnson was. This team needs better teachers around it because this past season made it painfully apparent we are just not teaching guys how to feed the post, protect the ball, space the floor, attack zones, etc. Johnson reminded me of someone who would be a decent Memphis public HS coach. More skilled at dealing with third parties on the recruiting trail than actually providing valuable coaching insight that helped his players improve

I don't think there's any aspect of a player's game from the past couple years that you can point to and say yup Kenny Johnson helped that skill develop

James Strong at Belmont is someone I'd look at

Ok, we've known this was coming for a few weeks which means CTC has known for a month or so. I am positive he and KJ have spoken with each player and recruit about KJ's departure. We would have already heard rumblings of more transfers and requests for release from LOI's if those kind of things were going to happen. KJ is a great recruiter and relationship builder, but time and time again we see that recruits commit to head coaches, not schools. CTC is the man who will be helping them grow and teaching them how to be better players. This will absolutely impede our 2015 recruiting, but ultimately we will end up with the guys who want to play for CTC. McClain has been visiting all of our recruits the past week or so, and hopefully selling them on the idea that CTC and our history are the reasons they should commit here. I believe this is an excellent move for KJ, I wish him all the best, and I hope we use this as an opportunity to hire an esteemed IU alum or past NBA player/coach with Indiana ties. This can be a win-win for both parties.

You and a few others in this thread should probably take a break from IU basketball for awhile.

I'm glad they weren't around during the Mike Davis era, I would be genuinely concerned for their health. I'm not sure I've ever seen more negative views, it's just an assistant coach. They leave for programs that are doing better all the time, the sky is hardly falling. Poor Dolorous Wayne.
