Unfortunately the majority of fans feel Crean's future at IU is short. Every board is a bi-product of that now. Until he shows otherwise it will continue to be that way unfortunately.

My personal opinion is...I am not sure Crean were to go next year, even if he doesn't make the tournament. It will be the same old excuses, we were so young, no depth at the 5 spot, no outside shooting, yadayadayada! I am afraid, with his contract that we are stuck with him for 3 more years minimum. Glass really screwed the pooch on this one. Hey I understand giving him an extension. Just not one that makes it where we can't get rid of him when he sucks. 10 freakin years, Come On!

If the big money got tired of him, and I wouldn't be able to blame them, Glass wouldn't have much of a choice but to make a move.  If they don't want him and Glass keeps him the money would begin to dry up, and he can't have that.  He may have tied himself to Crean's hip with the universe-shattering stupidity of that insane buyout though.

Okay, I'll walk you through it just this once.  Implicit in your statement that the majority of fans feel that Crean's future at IU is short is your assumption that those who bloviate on the boards you read are a representative sample of IU fandom and that their numbers reach statistical significance in generalizing about said fandom.  Neither is factually correct.  In my opinion, moderators should be happy when people call out those who make assertions that have no basis in fact, even if those assertions are those of the moderators.
