Wanted to separate this post from my last but last night was his 20th consecutive quality start. Only reason he pitched 6 was cause he is going Wednesday. He gave up 2 hits and was just dominating. I have watched a lot of baseball in my life and I have only seen Greg Maddux more consistently dominant in a single season. From someone who breathes baseball as much as Hoosier basketball I wish we had an adequate 3rd starter.

. Next season my friend. Next season.

3:00 is a big time slot today. Cubs vs Brewers and Pirates vs Reds. If the Cubs win and Pirates lose, they tie for 1st in the Wild Card and the Cubs have the head-to-head tiebreaker on the season. I don't see Pitt losing today, but that could be huge for the Cubs to have homefield Wednesday.

If the Pirates don't come back from 4-0 against the Reds in the first game the Cubs control their destiny. It's weird cause having played the Reds before the Pitates did I thought they would smoke them hands down. The Reds have mostly controlled this series. Interesting day for sure. Cubs are rolling.

Reds are trotting out some guy that's 0-3 with a 7.22 ERA against Happ, so I'm not holding my breath, but a guy can hope.

Natty, just like in the fantasy playoffs, You're going down!
And this time...its for real.

Lol they are young and inexperienced so it wouldn't surprise me. Rather, I sort of anticipate that as the outcome.

Either here or in the playoff thread, I predicted the Yanks either lose the wild card game 12-0 or win it all. Tuesday, we'll know the answer.

I think losing 12-0 is more likely.  They stuck with Stephen Drew WAY too long and the awfulness rubbed off on everyone else in the lineup.  Bird was in AAA most of the season so obviously the stench of Drew didn't travel to Scranton.

For a team that has gone after crappy veterans so many times, they finally found the holy grail of crappy veterans.

oh now they just need Bartolo Colon and then you could say that.

They relied on Stephen friggin' Drew and Brendan Ryan to man 2nd.  It doesn't get more worthless than that combo.

Yet they've had a love affair with Drew for a few years now so they'll probably re-sign him.    :shout:  :rtfm:  :help:  :banghead:
