So I delivered my own baby last night....(not planned)

So I thought I'd share my own story just to break up the whirlwind of IUbb. My wife expected due date with our 2nd daughter was next week (April 1st). I called her on my way home last night after work to see how she was doing and she told me she thought she was having contractions and to hurry home to help take care of our oldest daughter (age 2). Contractions were all over the place in terms of length and intensity but about 11:15pm my wife couldn't take it anymore and asked me to call her OBGYN. After 15 min he called us back and told us to head to the hospital. My wife's friend is a doula so we were waiting for her to get to our house before heading in to the hospital. In between one of the contractions my wife asked me to help her to the bathroom so she could use it before we headed to the hospital. Within a minute I hear my wife yelling that she needs me to come to the bathroom. Reluctantly I went in there to see the top of my child's head coming out. I yelled at my sister who was there to call 911 and held my daughters head not really knowing what to do. While I was giving 911 my address the rest of my daughter came out and I caught her. A few minutes later the fire dept and EMT's arrived to assist the rest of the way. Lily Renee was born at 11:50pm last night and is currently resting comfortably. What a night!

Great story!  You are more of a man than myself lol.  I would have passed out.  Woke up long enough to pass out again.  Then I would have been grabbing a baby with tongs.  Also, if I have to see that up close, I would probably not be able to have sex for a couple of weeks.  Just saying.  I am squeamish.

That is almost the exact opposite of what happened to me. While my daughter was being born I had my own nurse, they took the oxygen mask off of my wife and gave it to me. Then put me in a rocking chair and locked me in the bathroom with the nurse & oxygen mask until the delivery was complete and they felt I was not going to pass out.

You southside are a champ, congrats on daddy's lil girl.
