I'm probably one of the few that don't want MSU and UM to do well. The result will be more very good players leaving IN to go play there and not come to IU.

Which only makes Crean's job harder. But at least people on TV (that we have the option of ignoring) will stop saying bad things about our precious conference!   :P

Our fans won't be too happy when MSU and UM keep getting local recruits we want due to their recent success. 

If we ever get a competent Coach , the recruiting will take care of itself.  Jus tired of the rest of the country insulting our league.

Let me get this straight...some of you don't want the B1G schools to do well for fear of losing recruits to said schools?

It's IU's job to perform at a level to be lucrative to potential recruits,
and not worry about the success at other schools.

Well, yeah, sure, but we aren't there right now. Right now, we are losing Indiana recruits to conference foes. As long as that continues, it is more difficult for us to do our job. We're losing in-state kids, kids who could help us, to Michigan, Michigan State, Louisville and Kentucky. As long as they go deeper in the tournament than us more often than not, it's going to get harder and harder to convince recruits to come help us. Just the way it is.

 

Hence, the sooner those teams are out of the tournament, the happier I am.

My point is we cannot control what other programs are doing...we control our own destiny. Honestly, I also believe the success of the B1G as a whole can be a wonderful recruiting tool as well.

I'd like to see the B1G have a few Final Four teams, but no.  Arizona simply looks like the superior team, and they are.
