I think a perfect example of what you're saying is Eric Gordon. Pretty respectable NBA player and I still say "yeah he went to IU for a year", but with Vic I say "he went to IU and is one of the best Hoosiers of all time". We claim Gordon and put Vic on a pedestal. Or I do at least.

Great example.  That is where my head was at.  Sorry I didn't make much sense of it.

I looked at Gordons NBA contract and he most definately made the right decision. He just happened to play for us in a really bad year with the sampson fiasco. The same can be said for Mcginnes. While he was here two years, he only played one because of freshman eligibility and the team was not legendary. I'm afraid the same will be said about Noah but I won't blame him for leaving. The three are and were sure fire lottery picks who happened to not play on championship IU teams. Thankfully, most of our great ones don't fit into this category.

Now that I think about it, Noah will be very reminiscent of Gordon (I'm too young to have seen McGinnis). Gordon's year we lost early in the Dance, but it wasn't entirely different from this year. Freakin Hoffarber in the B1G tourney. Ugh....

Only have to pay if you bounce after one year. Id guess 95% of players would still go to college.

At that point they'd be making millions so the rule still wouldn't change anything.

The only thing stopping Stanford Robinson from being an absolute GREAT and virtually UNGUARDABLE player is perimeter shooting. A lot of muscle weight will be added to him by the end of the summer..
How about shooting in general and his handles, better ball control. I said before the season Stan was the freshman to watch. My favorite freshman as of now but he knows what he has to do to get better.

I believe by 2016 Devin Davis Jr is going to be a STUD! Not with overwhelming shooting, dribbling, or height. BUT with pure strength and grit. he's shown flashes this year of what I would like to call a Bull Dog mentality. The wide body and heart that is apparent in every game when he steps on the court is what is leading me to believe he will be everybody's favorite player in a few years.
This is also true, by the time Devin has his Senior night, this guy will be unforgettable. I foresee a very bright future for this young man.

His body control could use some work as well. Teams eventually made the pretty easy adjustment of stepping in front of the guy when he beat his man. Then due to his lack of body control he just bulldozed them over, and get an offensive foul resulting in more turnovers.

Loosing Luke hurt us bad this season. A 6'11" center is exactly what we needed to help take some of the double team off Vonley. Even if Luke come in to replace Vonley, we wouldn't have had near the drop off when Noah got a breather. We lost many  games this season that I think Luke would have made a difference. This year has been a huge disappointment!  The turnovers are atrocious and not acceptable this late in the season!  Coach Crean needs to bring in an assistant that he can trust to develop bigs and teach fundamentals. He is not getting it done in either department.

You just took a shot to my heart I still cringe about Luke leaving.

I am assuming he is, or there would be more out there than a random guy saying this in passing on an IU forum.
