tatted up Hoosiers

Recommended Posts

I apologize, considering this is an off topic thread. It's just that the majority of people I see with tattoos should be spending their money on other things. I don't have a problem with what people do to their own bodies, but I have observed that many people that have visible tattoos complain of not having any money, therefore I see it as a silly thing to waste money on in most cases.

If its in memory of someone that is one thing, but why is this a thread? I thought we made fun of UK fans for being hicks...

Sent from my iPod touch using BtownBanners

I've got 2 full sleeves, and a lot more, how is that hick? Just because the tatted people you've met haven't been up to your standards doesn't mean that the majority of tatted people are like that. I AM from the country, however, and I prefer it that way, so if that's what you mean by hick then I am a hick and damn proud of it. I think you need to interact with more "tatted hicks" before you pass judgement

It was a stereotype that many people shared when I lived in Ohio. That doesn't mean it's a true stereotype at all. In my opinion I think it's silly to look like Chris Anderson because it truly can scare people away and definitely limits your job opportunities.

it only scares the closed minded people, I'm a chef, professional competition bbq pitmaster, and caterer, I have no problem getting clients. As a matter of fact 98% of the people that hire me are more curious about the tattoos than anything. You're definitely entitled to your opinion, but if your opinion of a person is able to be based on ink inside their skin, then you've had a very sheltered life. If ya think about it, that's no different from racism, could you be scared of somebody just because the color of their skin is different?

I don't think it gets much more American than Eagles with machine guns in their wings. Also, thank you to your son.

I don't have any tattoos. I probably won't ever have any. I have nothing against anyone that has tattoos. I have nothing against anyone that doesn't have tattoos. Years ago ear piercing was considered taboo. Now nobody bats an eye at it. For the people that hate tattoos, I really think you'd be surprised how many of your friends/family/coworkers have them. It's a high number.

Quick story, my old boss took me out to the golf course with him one summer right after work. Straight laced guy, mid 40's with wife and kid. It was a hot day and he took me to his country club where he proceeded to golf in a long sleeve golf shirt. I finally asked him what the hell was wrong with him and he pulled up his sleeves to show he had full sleeve tattoos down to his mid forearm! He said the country club people would give him too many looks and probably try to kick him out if they knew. I had no idea he had them at work. Especially since even when he'd wear a sweater or something he'd still pull his sleeves up (to mid forearm) and you couldn't tell. For the record, all of his tattoos had significant meaning to him and he loved them. Hated the fact that he had to hide them when he was at work or the country club. tons of prejudice out there.

The point of this post, is that boss was the exact same guy he was before I knew he had all the tattoos and after I found out he had them. It's just ink under your skin. Doesn't affect who you are or how you act. Have a feeling this is another generation thing. (See Indiana's new uniform thread...)
