My heart says "yes, yes, for the love of God, Sheehey...come back"...

my head says "it's over, time to move on"...

for the record, my heart and head have had similar battles over women over the course of time as well...

I'm not gonna reveal who usually wins...

Been there, done that.  My head was the voice of reason and lost, my heart paid the consequences and boy oh boy did it ever pay....

yeah...I guess that's the dilemma with all IU fan's, huh?

if we weren't so heart-vested...

then life would be so much easier...but that's not the way it works...is it?

He used to play with a chip on his shoulder. Don't think he does nowadays. It may be because his teammates are looking his way for a leader and its just not there. He's a solid role player on the team, he's not "the guy"

shouldn't that "Could Care Less" line be "Couldn't care less"???

as it stands...

it means there is room for less caring...

but all of that aside...I read this thread as people being heart broken by Sheehey...

Yes, it's "couldn't care less".

His shot is way off this year! I have never seen him miss so many shots, layups too!. I wonder what his shooting % is this year compared to last year?

His FG% and 3P% are both the lowest of his career, although 3P% is less than 1% off from his freshman year.  His FT% is actually at a career high.

Actually, if I remember, last year after he got T'd up after that dunk on the road, Coach Crean said he told Sheehey and Victor to tone down the antics, and they lost their edge then.  Lost 3 of 4 or something like that.  Maybe I'm just way off base.  Wouldn't be the first time.

I've never been real high on Sheehey. He was a sixth man for a reason. He has too many limitations to be a main key to a team. I think we're all pretty disappointed in him this year.

I was very disappointed, he hasn't improved anywhere since his sophomore season. Hell, his shooting probably regressed.

Pappy1865 nailed it.  Ever since his "T" last year he has been a subdued player.  Too bad, the Hoosiers could have used his spunk and zest for winning he demonstrated last year. Definitely a different person/player:(

Thing that makes me mad STILL about that T, he was yelling as he dunked, and continued the yell as he was landing.  T'd for taunting.  I've seen way worse than that and they let it go.  I know that they were itching to T up either him or Vic for showboating, but damn it man.

Sheehey is a complimentary player with a high basketball IQ.  He understands Crean's offense and when he was playing with guys last year that also understood it, he looked like another cog in the wheel.  He knew where to be and knew he could trust his teammates to be in the correct places as well.  His passes, shots, and drives were more in rhythm with the offense because he knew his teammates and his teammates knew him.

Fast forward to this year.  Now Sheehey is expected to elevate his game and be a scorer and leader for this young team.  However, now he is on the court with 3-4 other guys that don't know the offense very well and don't have very high bball IQs.  So now he looks like he makes errant passes, dribbles into trouble, shoots more than he should, and generally isn't as effective.  I believe much of this is due to both trusting his teammates too much at times (e.g. thinking they should be making a cut or running a lane on a fast break when they don't) and subsequently not trusting his teammates enough at other times (e.g. forcing the action and getting out of his comfort areas as a player.)

The alternative hypothesis, of course, is he's just partying too much.

Sheehey reminds me honestly of Tommy Rees.  Got a great brain/head for the game, but the skills just aren't quite there.  I think both of them will be great coaches someday down the road.

Or they could just party together, I mean, Tommy's got "got people" after all.......
