I just finished "The Quiet Game" by Greg Iles. Yet another outstanding novel by him with Penn Cage as the Protagonist. Other novels with Penn Cage are "Devil in the Punchbowl " and the Natchez Trilogy, "Natchez Burning", "The Bone Tree" and Mississippi Blood. They are long novels, but I highly recommend them.

It's a solid read. You'll like it.

Just finished it yesterday. It was solid but I had a difficult time reading it. I definitely enjoyed reading Killing Kennedy more than Killing Lincoln.

Reading some book on interrogation methods now.

Nathan Gordon (Gordan) can't remember his name, is one of the best interrogation book authors out there. He worked on polygraphs for years and is/was some sort of psychologist. I can't remember his background but i remember going through alot his work back in the day. There is also a criminal investigative female that has written some good books on interviewing/interrogation deception. I will do some searching to remember her name. But, that Nathan G guy kinda leads the field. Yeah, he is one of those big-brained guys who likes to say how awesome he is but you can pull some good nuggets out of his writing. When i get some time, i will look up some of his books.

By the way, if anyone has any paper copies of books that they are finished reading and would like to donate to troops overseas that have limited internet capability (i'm with them and feel their pain) PM me. We don't really have access to alot of good books where i'm at so they are like gold!

A used book store not far from my home town went out of business. They had their books 75% off of sticker price. My wife and I stopped by on our way home from my VA appointment. I was planning on only picking up a few books. My wife said buy what you want because I wouldn't be able to get hardbacks at those prices. I went a little overboard. I bought 33 books, mostly hardback, and paid 65 for them. I purchased a lot of Baldacci and Sandford books and a few other authors.

Finished up "Hunt the Wolf" by Don Mann today. It seemed like a knockoff of the Mitch Rapp and Pike Logan series.

Picked up "Horse Soldiers" today. I've heard some good reviews of it.

Horse Soldiers was excellent. If you're into war stories. Jawbreaker is another excellent book about the start of the war in Afghanistan.

Has anyone read any Daniel Silva? Someone recommended him to me at the Library. They said to start with the first one. I checked it out and I am around 150 pages into it. Does his novels get better? This one has started real slow.

Just finished my 20th book of the year. (the goal is 40!)  I wasn't much of a reader until the last few years when my body decided to fail me and I have much more downtime.  "The Operator: Firing the shots that killed Osama bin Laden" by Robert O'Neill is an excellent book.  I don't typically like Spec Ops guys breaking the code of silence and writing these books.  However, it was pretty cool to read about his adventures as a SEAL and on SEAL Team 6.  It also gave a little more insight into some ops we were spun up on in Afghanistan but never given the green light to go.

"We Were the Lucky Ones" by Georgia Hunter is an excellent book.  It's about a Jewish family from Poland just before and during the War.  It's based on true events from one family and their fortunate, if you can say such a thing about a devastating time, series of events throughout.  I don't typically read this kind of book but am glad I ventured outside of my normal reading genre for this one.

I think I set my Goal on Goodreads too low at 35. I'm at 30 already and almost done with book number 31.
