What Do You Love Most About Indiana Basketball?

Recommended Posts

Bringing this back to light from all the frustration last night. Remember, there is a reason you LOVE Indiana Basketball, sometimes we just need some help remembering what that is.

Remembering all my Dad's friends with bad 80's hair and those bright red Indiana nylon jackets

I love the accountability of those fans that said this season is going to be a roller coaster ride and we are going to sit back enjoy the growth and development of our players & that they remain supportive of the players and coaching staff even when the ball drops down our rim 1 or 2 times less than what it would take to gain the "W".

I love the high bar of character Yogi displayed during the post game interview last night.  In the face of huge frustration, you could see the determination & belief this lad has.  I really felt he was nothing short of  a class act during the interview & it made me very proud to be a Hoosier fan.  He certainly absorbed the responsibility for  what transpired last night & you can see he is ready to move forward with a very positive expectation.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the development of our players this year.  I believe these guys have made great strides in the physical & mental areas of their games.  They just need to get an absolute belief and vision of what their standard level of play is and be able to play with that through the emotional roller coaster ride (great plays & turnovers) of each game --- possession  --  pass -- etc.

It is awesome to see a coaching staff remain accountable to the principle of getting better each and every day. CTC talks about not accepting after a win what you would not during a loss.  During the highlights of our Wisky win you may or may not have noticed the way in which we crashed the boards during the shots.  Some of our players were all over this concept at this stage of the season.  A couple were not as much.  I didn't see anything in the media or IU forums regarding this issue, but our coaches were on it and players made significant strides by the time we beat Michigan at home.  I'm going to mention Troy W & Austin E only to highlight what I feel is a small example of what the coaching staff is in the process of doing here. I'm certainly not calling them out in a negative way here & I apologize if on an offensive board AE was told to hang back for the sake of getting back on defense during the Wisky game.  Anyway I hope you enjoy watching the differences in these two highlights and I appreciate what the staff is doing for these athletes.

I appreciate just having the traditions, some of which existed when I was a child: Martha the Mop Lady, Don Fischer, Candy Stripe pants, Greatest timeout in college basketball, the same old songs the band plays every game and I keep waiting to hear.  Have you ever been to an Illinois game?  No more chief...No traditions..just the Orange Krush.  Boring!

The tradition.  The high regard other teams have for it. Assembly Hall. Candy Stripes.  The passion the fans have (even if some times they can turn on their team).  It reminds me of growing up, going to IU parties with my mom.  Once a Hoosier, Always a Hoosier!

Yes, nitpicking. I've seen some of your posts, and take it easy with the cursing. We want a family friendly community here. The words you are using are barely mild, but the rules say no cursing.

Thanks!
