What's the deal with these drug test rumors?

I can buy into the idea that JH perhaps was benched for something more than a coaching lesson but pulling DD into this rumor just makes it fall flat.  Assuming both kids did the same thing, you are going to tell me Crean played DD a couple minutes to throw people off the scent or whatever?  So who would the third one be, Johnny Marlin?  lol

 

If this was a buy/sell segment on Around the Horn, I'd be selling on this rumor without any further confirmation.

The only thing I am saying, I would be shocked if by Crean's actions and words post game about Jeremy needing to get his head right, he didn't do something along these lines.  We know its not academic, or Crean wouldn't have a say.  Crean would never sit a starter for a whole game that was close to prove a point.  This is Crean we are talking about.  Bobby Knight?  Ok.  Crean.  Not a chance.  I believe he would do something like this if it wasn't basketball related.  If it was University related he would have to disclose that.

My one thing is JH was never listed by the poster who mentioned the failed drug test. Davis was, and he got in the game, even if it was for 2 minutes. If that is true I think most of us would have some big issues with Crean playing any one of the three any minutes, or even having them dressing and ready to go if they were needed

Well, we definitely don't want to see a repeat of the He Who Shall Not Be Named teams. Puff, Puff, Pass is not a play that should be drawn up on the locker room whiteboard. If this rumor is true, than playing any one of the three would make any "punishment" a joke. However, lets remember that there is only one anonymous third (or fourth) hand source for this information anyway. That JH was even even involved in this alleged activity is merely being extrapolated from the rumor, that he didn't play, and CTC's vague comment after the game. It would seem to add smoke to the rumor, but its conjecture at this point.

Haven't heard this rumor anywhere but the game thread. Not saying it is true or untrue, but there seems to be a few holes in the rumor. I did see JH's high school coach has spoke, briefly, about the situation. Crean contacted him before the game to inform him of the situation. He is selling the needed to get focused line, as well.

I know how could that question not come up, ever since the starters were announced I was wondering what the deal was. At first I thought Crean wanted more leadership in the starting lineup and went with Evan, then these rumors came up. I hope that they are just rumors,

Yes he does, but this move is unprecedented in Crean's Tenure. 2 minutes for DD?? 

 

DD was the one elbowed during the play that was reviewed. And didn't return. Maybe that blow was instrumental in him not returning.

 

 

I suppose I hope it is him. I'd hate for people to be tossing his name around if it wasn't......

See I disagree with this whole rumor for one simple fact about Crean's coaching.  Crean wouldn't draw up puff, puff, pass.  He would draw up puff, puff, f***ing turnover.

When I was watching the game, I thought maybe JH was injured.  Then I remember hearing Fisch in the pre-game talking about how healthy this team is right now.  Then I thought, man, CTC is proving one hell of a point to JH.  Then the game ended and the warm-ups were still on and had almost forgot that JH never even made it in the game.

Seemed better this weekend. No full line changes that I recall, starters played the first 4 mintues without any subs. I haven't looked at a boxscore but it seemed like we only had about 8 guys getting minutes (starting 5, Austin, & Stan)... with Hanner spelling Noah... I know DD got a few and Howard got a few but overall I was much happier with the lineups and spans this weekend. And it comes out with a W so hopefully CTC learned something from this game as he said the players did.
