100%. But the idea that the guy who wrote Kid A and OK Computer now looks like fishin’ grandpa really throws me.

I'm 59. Realizing now that I may look like fishin' grandpa, I'm going to take a leisurely stroll out into traffic .

RIP to Jimmy Cliff. One of the great Reggae/Soul artists ever.

I'm not usually one to listen to movie soundtrack albums, but the Jimmy Cliff-led "The Harder They Come" album from the film of the same name is one of the great reggae albums ever made.

Highly recommended - R.I.P. Jimmy Cliff

Tell you what:

The Lions/Packers Thanksgiving Day game halftime show is a live performance by the White Stripes with Eminem kicking in for one number and absolutely nothing pre-recorded.

it was pretty freaking epic.

I was shocked when they showed him in the suite coming from a commercial and he was doing the halftime. He had to do 7 Nation for the casuals but I was pleased nonetheless.
P.S. It was just Jack, Meg wasn't drumming.

Came across these guys courtesy of my grandniece, who has a great ear and naturally gravitates to wildly under appreciated bands. Rattlesnake Milk is an Austin, TX sort of alt-country band. But that doesn’t really get it. There are elements of every genre of country imaginable but the guitar work, which is spectacular, is pure Dick Dale surf rock. What it adds up to is awesome. The 1st track is from their self-titled album and it’s kind of crude and under-produced and cool. The 2nd is from their most recent album, a couple of years ago, and is just a terrific freakin’ song. Seriously, this is kick-a$$ put the top down and drive music. Big thumbs up.

"Surf-country" is a genre that we didn't know we needed.

Driving to Atlanta for the Peach Bowl. My newly added albums that will be featured for the 8.5 hours are:

  • Lux - Rosalia
  • Chicken Fried Snake - Rattlesnake Milk
  • Lowlands - The Lovely Basement
  • Dog Eared - Billie Marten
  • People Watching - Sam Fender
  • Robespierre's Velvet Basement - Jacobites
  • Headlights - Alex G
  • The Essential Radio Birdman - Radio Birdman
  • Groova Tizmo - Marc Jonson
  • Different Class - Pulp

That oughta do it.

Daughter 1 told me I needed to check these guys out. Wolf Alice is a British sort of all over the map but apparently  mostly indie band with 4 albums and 4 EP’s. Had not heard of them. Was told specifically that I needed to listen in order due to their pretty pronounced evolution. So busted out My Love is Cool, their debut album from 2015, and it’s terrific. Sort of grungy, but not really. Great edge. Big thumbs up. Sent daughter 1 my opinion and my thanks and was informed I didn’t start far enough back. Apparently if you start with the early EP’s they were basically a folk act, which is pretty wild listening to this. Got to do that.

Anyway, here ya go.

Read that earlier today and was sad. Three Dog Night was one of the first concerts that I ever attended, as a youth back in the very early '70s.

Used to run and Eli’s Coming was on my playlist because the rhythm was absolutely perfect for my stride. Listened to it a million times.

Does that mean that for my current state of running stride I should be listening to Springsteen‘s Nebraska album?

Having suggested an album that maybe y’all haven’t heard, and maybe you need to, in a while.

Bill Fay went from 1971 until 2012 without releasing new material. He was pretty sure no one wanted to hear what he had to say. By then he had a lot to say, and he released Life Is People:
