I'm not usually one to listen to movie soundtrack albums, but the Jimmy Cliff-led "The Harder They Come" album from the film of the same name is one of the great reggae albums ever made. Highly recommended - R.I.P. Jimmy Cliff Demo 1 Quote
Stuhoo Posted November 27, 2025 Posted November 27, 2025 Tell you what: The Lions/Packers Thanksgiving Day game halftime show is a live performance by the White Stripes with Eminem kicking in for one number and absolutely nothing pre-recorded. it was pretty freaking epic. I was shocked when they showed him in the suite coming from a commercial and he was doing the halftime. He had to do 7 Nation for the casuals but I was pleased nonetheless. P.S. It was just Jack, Meg wasn't drumming. Stuhoo 1 Quote
Demo Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Came across these guys courtesy of my grandniece, who has a great ear and naturally gravitates to wildly under appreciated bands. Rattlesnake Milk is an Austin, TX sort of alt-country band. But that doesn’t really get it. There are elements of every genre of country imaginable but the guitar work, which is spectacular, is pure Dick Dale surf rock. What it adds up to is awesome. The 1st track is from their self-titled album and it’s kind of crude and under-produced and cool. The 2nd is from their most recent album, a couple of years ago, and is just a terrific freakin’ song. Seriously, this is kick-a$$ put the top down and drive music. Big thumbs up. mamasa 1 Quote
mamasa Posted January 6 Posted January 6 They played at Turntable in Indy in June. Low Gap opened. Rattlesnake Milk was pretty epic, Low Gap not so much (for me at least). Big crowd! Demo 1 Quote

Demo Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Daughter 1 told me I needed to check these guys out. Wolf Alice is a British sort of all over the map but apparently mostly indie band with 4 albums and 4 EP’s. Had not heard of them. Was told specifically that I needed to listen in order due to their pretty pronounced evolution. So busted out My Love is Cool, their debut album from 2015, and it’s terrific. Sort of grungy, but not really. Great edge. Big thumbs up. Sent daughter 1 my opinion and my thanks and was informed I didn’t start far enough back. Apparently if you start with the early EP’s they were basically a folk act, which is pretty wild listening to this. Got to do that. Anyway, here ya go. Quote
Stuhoo Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Rainy cold Sunday morning. Listening to Ro Sham Bo, the only album by The Grays, which included Jason Falkner of Jellyfish and Jon Brion. Really solid stuff. Demo 1 Quote

Stuhoo Posted Wednesday at 01:07 AM Posted Wednesday at 01:07 AM Having suggested an album that maybe y’all haven’t heard, and maybe you need to, in a while. Bill Fay went from 1971 until 2012 without releasing new material. He was pretty sure no one wanted to hear what he had to say. By then he had a lot to say, and he released Life Is People: Quote
