James Blackmon Rumors

Recommended Posts

My mom worked w/his mom way back in the day.  His father did some work on our basement lol  Again, way back in the day.

Herald Press?  His dad was ok.  He was my basketball coach and Sean was on my team.  We did the clear out 4 corners while Sean went one on one in the 3rd grade.  Needless to say that pissed off some parents.  Lol, playing ball with him at that age sucked.

Also, just thinking out loud.

I think Etherington is probably expendable on a transfer. His shooting ability is already matched by all three recruits we are bringing in and he really isn't anything special. Along with that, I definitely think Vonleh could go pro after this season or Yogi if he has a huge year (which he might). I'm not sure who would want to transfer (Peter?) so it could become tricky. Let's get Jaquan before we worry too much about the whole "two spots oversigned" deal.

Dude, its done.  That has been the chatter.  Kendrick who lives in Evansville said before JB2 committed if he for sure went back to IU, JL was going to.  There is a reason Kendrick was the first to know JB2 was going to IU.  He found out through JL.  He won't steal a kids thunder, but he is plugged in on this class.

No no. I get that. Like I'm 99.99% sure he's coming here. BUT I was also that sure after Devin Robinson visited and we all know how that ended up. Definitely think Jaquan comes here though. If he visits this weekend, I think it's a done deal.

I am from Evansville and I heard thru the grapevine (whatever that's worth) that Jaquan couldn't believe that CTC sold out a fundraiser @ Evansville Country Club. He spoke to over 400 people. I believe he was quoted as saying "Coach Crean got more love from my hometown than I do" In my opinion (again, for whatever that's worth) this opened Jaquan's eyes to how good he could have it if he stays in state.

The pieces are falling into place. Lyle will be next. What a class this will turn out to be. I love Duke forever, but the excitement of indiana basketball is growing on me. You people are great man. Thank you.

Haha just be happy he picked IU... The wrath of IU isn't quite so becoming.... Passionate one way or the other

I have to read 30 pages for tomorrow's quiz and I have been on page 1 since 8 o clock. Too much excitement.

I despise UK fans, but their boards can be funny.

They went from imagining lineups with Blackmon to saying his dad didn't pan out at UK and Jr. won't either, saying Sr. probably didn't enjoy his time at UK and probably didn't try to convince Jr. to go there, to suggesting that Crean might have had James fake decommit so he can say he beat Cal for a recruit, to saying James only decommitted to drive up his national exposure.

I know this has been brought up before but I feel like it's been forgotten throughout all of this tonight: Final Four in Indy in 2015.. I'm saying IU's team next year is going to be better than last years and will make it there

Next year's team will easily be better than last year's team. This season will be fun, and next season should be even better. Bright, bright future for Indiana basketball.

Troy has to continue to grow.  We won't have a Vic or Cody.  Different players.  I think Noah adds things Cody didn't have and vice versa.  The free throw shooting being the huge thing.  Cody scored ALOT from the line.  Vic, imo, will be the harder one to replace.  You can't replace that talent.  What you do, is you replace it with depth.  We now have that for next year.  Not just depth, but elite depth.  We will be more athletic than last year.  The only thing I worry about is replacing those 4-1000 pt scorers.  We won't replace that scoring completely, but our defense will be that much better that I ultimately agree with you.  We will not get outrebounded.  Teams won't be able to push us around when our shots go cold.  If we go cold we can go to the bench which is different.  I agree.  I think we can be better.

I think Vonleh is better than Cody, and I think Troy could be better than Vic if he develops a more consistent shot. Hollowell should be better than Watford, and Blackmon is much better than Jordy Hulls. We should have the talent to be better, easily. It might come down to experience and chemistry, though.

I think the talent potential is there, but like you said they had experience.  Even with that lack of experience I think they could be better.  But, Jordy as a Senior will probably be more accurate from 3 than Blackmon.  Defensively it isn't even close.  That is Blackmon all day long.  For as deadly as Jordy was from the line he had a tendency to miss in crunch time.  IMO, I don't think Hollowell will be as good as Watford.  He is far more talented, but he has to be more consistent.  Watfords numbers were better (I know different time, but that is all we have), but his biggest knock was consistency (Which happens to be JH as well).  I think he has more talent, but less will at this point.  He could surprise me this year and I hope he does.  Noah and Cody play at such a high level it is splitting hairs.  Noah gives us what Cody couldn't.  A big banger who can rebound at a high clip.  Someone who also can step out and hit shots.  With as much as we run, his FTs scare me, but that is hardly a knock.  A combo of players can replace Vic in time, but not sure one player can.  Our team has depth the last two teams did not.  That is where I think we are decisively better.  Definitely splitting hairs.  I think next year's team is built for a tournament run more than last year's team due to the depth.
