I can't remember another recent recruitment like this one. Down to 3 schools, no immediate decision after the final official, no scheduled decision, each school's fans have "sources close to the situation" that say he's coming to their school. It's gotten very interesting and will make for an exciting decision.

Cody Zeller's seemed to be similar. UNC and IU seemed ahead and sources from both were convinced. Butler may have been behind but there seemed to be some small buzz occasionally with them too.

This is me as well. If we can only get 1 I want Wilkes. Despite the fact Preston probably fits a bigger need.

He did just take an unofficial to Georgetown and it appears we are only the leaders because UK changed priorities. We are very much a result of slotting there.

Not true at all, UK was/is pushing hard for him and would absolutely take his commitment.  Calipari wants 2 PGs in this class and have made it clear Waters is more than welcome to be one of them.

If you read around it is being talked about UK focusing more on others especially since Duval opened recruitment. Now that being said I'm not saying UK wouldn't take his commitment.

By Meyer u mean the 247 scouting service. I would recommend branching out to all of the 5 major scouting services to get a bigger overall picture. Since this is Wilkes thread I will add his recruitment as well. Meyer and 247 have ucla the favorite but Meyer himself has said iu is a definite player answering questions on Twitter. Bossi from rivals and Paul biacanardi from ESPN has said in the past iu was in a very strong position

No I understand that about Wilkes. But when s coach reptioritizes and then the recruit is willing to commit elsewhere but is still looking at other options it just smells like slotting to me.

I feel if he commits in the early signing period it will be good for iu. Looking at it from a parents view if he signed early and went to ucla I would worry about him putting up with crap for his senior year for not going to iu. If he goes to ucla I would do it in the late signing period. Guy chose Virginia early enough in the process and didn't show the amount of interest in iu as Wilkes has shown over the years. Scuggs and Jackson left for prep schools for their senior year. But this is recruiting and anything can happen. Watch Wilkes wait late and still pick iu
