I've been tasked by@Class of '66 Old Fartto start this thread, so here we go ...

Hope the ladies catch their breath and get some rest after Wednesday's epic comeback -- because the No. 5-seeded Bucknuts and the Cambridge sisters are next on the docket, and we don't even get a full 24 hours off. No more streaming; we're back on BTN -- a "regular" network. We can do this. We played them in in late January, losing by 14 in Columbus, but we had a 10-point lead after 20 minutes. Just got poleaxed in the second half. Was one of our rare games that Shay didn't lead us in scoring. Beau had 20 that day and Shay had 19. 

Jaloni Cambridge leads O$U at 24.3 points a game. Older sister Kennedy averages 9.1 and Chance Gray is in the middle at 14.6. Sorta feel like Karma and the basketball gods owe us this one. Back in 2023 when we were ranked No. 2 nationally, we had a 28-point lead over the Nuts in the B1G semifinals, then completely collapsed.

Everyone wants to win.  Keep it respectable….Disadvantage:  IU Ladies with starters playing a lot of minutes in game one vs OSU press.  Advantage:  IU Ladies have played one game and should be adjusted and OSU playing their first game in tournament.  Maybe, a factor, maybe not.

Disadvantage:

OSU is the #11 team in the nation and is really, really talented and good. All other factors pretty much wash away when one team is markedly superior. So IU's non-WNIT season, barring a freakin' miracle will end today. 

But the future is very bright for IUWBB.

I found it interesting.  Teri Moren caught herself saying the girls think they can keep winning then quickly stopped herself and said we aren’t done yet or something along those lines.  Sums up the game today but after yesterday it’s nice to have a punchers chance at least.

Considering everything that’s all that can be ask for….and not sell things short in these type situations.  Unexpected things do happen seldomly once in a while.

Yeah a win today would be a complete surprise and miracle. But glad they were able to advance at least to here to get the shot at it, future's bright for sure.

An IU Ladies win today definitely would be a surprise…but no miracle required.  

IU Ladies are a 10.5 to 11.5 point underdog.  And probably the most money is on Ohio State to cover.

Had a 12-6 lead, but as per usual -- fouls and turnovers are proving costly. 

Six turnovers already -- O$U has scored six off those.

Today is why I am ultra critical of this fanbase and its purely out of my caring. Fan base at Big Ten Tourney in Indy grew to point where it was largest here. One bad year and now its back to the size it was pre-Moren as not much larger than any others. 

IU has played in the middle of the day many times through their best years and still filled the entire first level. Now one year where team is not the best and it disappears like yesterday's news. I've been to Omaha during Iowa and Nebraska's down years for baseball and they still show up as long as team is there. Meanwhile, at Victory Field for yearly game it takes one year of a non-Schwarber team and still being competitive to drop attendance by 75% from 8k to barely 2k.

Now with women's basketball its the same pattern over and over again where as soon as team is not ranked, everyone is gone in 6 months. Its why I fear so much for football as soon as team win nine games season tickets drop to 30k. 

Our men's basketball first fans stick through the thick and thin there mostly, but as soon as a sport that's not that stops being ranked in top-15 its over. Yes every fan base has front runners, but its particularly bad at IU where a built fan base in another sport is gone within months. 

You can't claim to want to be good at every sport as our fans do, only to dump it within months like no other fan base does. Fan behavior has to change. I am not talking to the loyal who are there through thick and thin but the frontrunners which is far larger than other fan bases.

People can get mad at me for saying this, but its if the 'shoe fits, wear it' situation and its why so many sports struggle to ever regain momentum they build.
