LamarCheeks Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Two shot-clock violations this half. Inexcusable. mamasa 1 Quote

LamarCheeks Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Really good first half. Not a great end, though, as Cambridge picks Caffey's pocket and makes an easy deuce. Still -- we're up after 20 minutes. Need to avoid our third-quarter swoon. Ciezki and Beaumont carrying us. Need to get some other contributions. Quote

LamarCheeks Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Very first possession of second half -- 10-second violation. Get the ball and GO. Stop standing and dribbling. Quote
LamarCheeks Posted January 23 Posted January 23 12-point lead. All gone. O$U now up 50-47. Turnovers and their press are killing us. Quote
LamarCheeks Posted January 23 Posted January 23 21 turnovers. Our work against the press is absolutely atrocious. Still, we're hanging in there ... down by 2 with 18 seconds left in the third. Quote
TheWatShot Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Most predictable thing ever that the lead would be gone by the end of the third. Quote
LamarCheeks Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Bit again by the third-quarter swoon. Up 10 at halftime. Extended that to 12 early in the third. Then ... I hate to say it, but I see O$U pulling away and winning easily. Hope I'm wrong. Quote
TTT Posted January 23 Posted January 23 3rd quarter has been a problem, however if you get run off the floor in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th quarter or a combination of all 4 quarters….they still get run off the floor. Lack of stamina. Quote
LamarCheeks Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Ciezki fouls out at 4:43. Pretty weak call, IMO -- thought she held her ground. Very, very minimal contact if at all. Fouls and turnovers -- killing us again. Quote
Claxdj01 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Ball handling, passing, and decision making has been awful Quote
LamarCheeks Posted January 23 Posted January 23 We're down 14 with 29 seconds to go and we're reviewing something? C'mon ... Quote
LamarCheeks Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Another L in the books. Up by 10 at halftime, but they made us play the second 20 minutes. Turnovers again were a killer. Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Never ever would have predicted this falloff a few years ago. From the top to the doormat in 2 years. ronzo4IU 1 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted January 23 Posted January 23 We had 26 turnovers resulting in 34 O$U points. The press is not new with the Bucknuts. Why, after all these years, can't we handle it? Perplexing. They took away the 3 from us. We were 9 for 13 in the first half; 2 for 4 in the second. We're in West Lafayette on Sunday. We've won 12 in a row over them -- I think that's the number anyhow. That streak very well could end. I enjoyed chatting w/myself this game. LOL! WayneFleekHoosier and ronzo4IU 1 1 Quote

We'll probably have at least one quarter scoring in single digits. One advantage we could have is that they're coming back from a west coast trip and teams sometimes struggle after that. Quote
Claxdj01 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 One glaring issue with the press is how slow the process was to take the ball out of bounds. They all just looked at the ball after it went in the basket and it was slow motion to get it to be inbounded. Over and over again. Ohio state had no trouble being completely set up. They dribbled into double teams over and over to get trapped. Weak passes. And they kept passing the ball into corners or moving backwards. I don’t know what the right answer for a lineup. You would think that the guards are quick enough to make pressing them difficult but the ball handling in general is just not very good Quote
