Class of '66 Old Fart Posted January 9 Posted January 9 A valiant effort but came up a little short at Nebraska. Our team just has such a small margin of error to work with. Iowa (13-2) (4-0), is a team I absolutely despise. The Hawkeyes average 83 ppg with a +21 margin shooting 50% FG and 37% on 3s. They average 43 rpg with a +13 margin and rebounding has been such an Achilles heel for us almost all season. They really move the ball well averaging 21 assists/game but also turn it over 16/game. 3 girls average in double figures led by Ava Heiden at 16.2. Hannah Stuelke and Heiden are their two best rebounders at 8.3 and 7.6. Their 3 point shooters with any volume of shots on the season are Chazadi Wright at 49%, Taylor Stremlow at 43% and Taylor McCabe at 39% so it will be a challenge for us to guard the arc. Going to be another tough matchup for our women. Radio Live Stats mamasa, HoosierHoopster, ALASKA HOOSIER and 1 other 4 Quote
mamasa Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I cannot stand Jan Jensen (she's pretty close to Kim Mulkey in my book). We need all the players hitting something- Beaumont didn't help much last game. HoosierHoopster, ronzo4IU and Class of '66 Old Fart 2 1 Quote
TTT Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Point spread listed as NA….keeps going back to 2025 at +5.5 IU Ladies Quote
ronzo4IU Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Can someone explain why Terri has assistants do the in game X’s & O’s during game huddle timeouts? Is that common in the women’s game? I find it odd. Quote

Building more self sufficient more self reliant team philosophy; develop player leadership because players are involved in timeouts as well, coaches carry over practice responsibilities into games…. Assume coaches do this on a continuum meaning to some head coaches do this minimally and maybe some hardly at all…to some head coaches do it a lot. It seems there would be some variables involved…..though I have observed this in her coaching in past years almost since beginning at IU, actually, Quote

I personally feel like the coach should be the main one involved in rallying the troops, but that’s just me. TTT 1 Quote

TTT Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Not much to look forward to but maybe a win on January 25….IU vs Purdue Ladies win streak of 13 consecutive wins to continue to 14 in jeopardy. Quote
Claxdj01 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Syd just called the last game. I’m sure we will get some clowns. Gennisis Bryant is at the table she does a good job. This will be a beat down by Iowa. Gone are the days we could take them out. NatHillIV 1 Quote
TTT Posted January 11 Posted January 11 IU Ladies need to have Z stay on the floor and be injury free….along with her teammates at end of game. Quote
Claxdj01 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Z cant get cheap fouls, can makalisky not get completely torched on defense and just stand at the 3 point line on offense for a couple open looks she’s a potted plant NatHillIV 1 Quote
TTT Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Maybe, M&M needs to stand straight up and down, breathe so slightly, and not move at all. She is getting picked on by refs like Parrish often did. What do refs have against IU Ladies from Fishers? Quote
TheWatShot Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Really good first quarter...so of course, we're doing nothing in the second. Quote

TheWatShot Posted January 11 Posted January 11 14 points in 17 minutes of second half. We are terrible. Quote
LamarCheeks Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Though we lost, we played so well in the third quarter at Nebraska. Today, we went right back into the third-quarter sh-tter. mamasa 1 Quote
TheWatShot Posted January 11 Posted January 11 5 second call on the inbounds play right out of a timeout. Just completely lost. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote
TTT Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Out of gas lacking team stamina second half. Last year excuse was Beaumont loss that was in the plans. At big ten level Beaumont is ok but lacks physicality and strength to be a go to type player consistently. Quote
mickey one Posted January 12 Posted January 12 So many weak links on this team. Only solids were Zania and Shay. The way is open next year, if Nyemchek, Battle, or Jackson can step up. Sad to lose to Iowa again. Quote
