Class of '66 Old Fart

IUFB vs Old Dominion - Saturday, 08.30.25 @ 2:30 on FS1

Recommended Posts

Sarratt needs ten targets in the second half. Black needs to be a goal line specialist. Mendoza needs to slow the game down. Cig will have an animated halftime speech and plenty of film to review. We will build. Arch Manning went 16-30 today with two picks. QBs take time to get game ready.

This doesn’t look a ton different than the FIU opener last year and it’s also against a better team. The running game dominated and we were clearly working out kinks all day. Rourke was not the Rourke we came to know and love in that game.

Everyone, just relax, this is the 1st game of the season against a decent G5 opponent.  Last year it was 21-7 going into half against FIU.

Our run game is much better compared to last year at this time. Cooper just flat dropped a well placed TD throw. We completely shut down ODU's rushing game in the 2nd qtr. Had decent clock management on the final drive but doinked a 52 yard FG attempt. These things happen in the 1st game.  Mendoza will get better. Rourke made mistakes against FIU too.

Mendoza and this team are going to be a-okay. Plenty to work on... it's the first game. Completely trust this staff.

Hemby is different from Ellison and maybe better in some ways, although I loved Ellison.

Mendoza doesn’t look anything like Rourke in any measure.

At this point, I’d rather have Tayven out there.

I’d give Mendoza at least another 2-3 minutes (LOL) to work with his receivers before giving up on him (too bad Omar dropped the perfect 50 yard pass in his hands).

Black is our goal line RB. Period. He’s low to the ground and falls forward.

I guess he can squat 500 and bench 415.

Those are slightly above my maxes.
