Class of '66 Old Fart

IUBB vs Ruger - Thursday, 01.02.25 @ 8:30 on Peacock

Recommended Posts

The Scarlet Pimpernels (8-5) (1-1) are 0-2 on the road and 1-3 on neutral courts so even a Mike Woodson coached team might actually get a 'W'.   They feature Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey and it will be a major challenge for our defense to contain them.  I watched several of Harper's games last year and he's relentless and fearless.  Harper is averaging 23 ppg and Bailey 18 ppg.   Ruger averages just over 20 3-pt attempts/game hitting 34%.   Will Ballo play?  Stay tuned on Thursday for the conclusion of this riveting storyline.

Noah Eagle, Robbie Hummel, and Caroline Pineda will call #iubb vs. Rutgers on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET for Peacock.

"The Scarlet Pimpernels" lol.

FWIW, those five Ruger losses are by a total of 26 points, with four of those losses by five or less points.

Why does this game make me nervous?
Because we are 1 for our last 11 against them? Because we just shot 1 for 20 last game from 3. Rutgers sadly has owned iu. Look it up

Not looking forward to seeing Harper and Bailey against our defense…

Maybe silly, but I think Dylan will take pleasure in carving us up like his older brother Ron Jr used to do. Jr used to talk a lot of smack about IU and then there was the whole thing with Dylan copying his brother’s celebration gestures from when they beat us on his visit here during the photo shoot…

Idk, on paper this is one they should probably win. But I have no real confidence in it happening.

He is by no means an X’s and O’s genius but you don’t exactly need to have the prowess of John Wooden to beat Woody. These freshmen are going to be some of the most talented players we’ve faced yet. Yikes
