2024-2025 IUBB Schedule

I see no downside in playing exhibition games because it gives the players a chance to get live action without worrying about the results. It  isn't like they are going to start the season any earlier so what is the problem of playing exhibition games.

How many do they need though?

If you play two exhibitions, then why do teams still play 7 more games against crap teams? It's not necessarily a flaw on IU... just think CBB non-conference scheduling is boring.

I will watch any IU basketball game over a football game every time. The last two years IU played on a Sunday where the Colts had a chance to clinch a playoff spot and I watched the IU game.

That's wild, my guy.

Has Indiana released a full schedule with times and broadcast network/streaming?  Last year there was a posting about Peacock for a year at a reduced price.  Thought that I had seen a schedule with broadcast channels earlier.  Anyone have a deal sighted?

In Dayton OH, I have Metronet fibre and Hulu TV Live.  Still have Peacock, presently for another two months then the subscription is up.

Thanks.

(Same question for FB.)

B1G usually releases BB dates/times/TV either side of Labor Day so keep your eyes open. FB is usually set 12-13 days ahead of games so we only know the 1st 3 games. We'll probably have a few B1G BB games on like last year. If we're decent, maybe there's a FB game on there too, most likely FS1 or BTN. Last year, ITH had a 1.99 per month discount, they'll likely offer the same thing again.

I did the same thing with that Peacock promo last year. They did have a $20/yr special earlier this summer I tried to use, but it wouldn't let me extend my current susbscription with it. Not sure how that will work as the end date gets closer. I will likely extend it, even though last year I only watched about 1 1/2 games on there. Michigan and I think it was Rutgers that I turned off at halftime and then took a little break from IUBB for a little while after that :).

Use a different email address (or use your current email address and add a + sign to the end of it) and make a new account to take advantage of any promos they or other streamers offer. Annoying if you set up watchlists and whatnot, but if you just use it for IUBB/live sports it's worth the effort.

My passion has been IU basketball and will always be that way. I was 14 when the Colts moved here so I have been an IU fan a lot longer than a Colts fan. I like basketball a lot more than football so it is a no brainer to me.

Just a few years ago the Power teams engaged in vague "secret scrimmages" and now they are full blown charity events.

I'm not completely against it, but an odd dynamic. At this rate, in a couple years there will be a full blown pre-season like the NFL.

That one with MSU and Tennessee last year was really good and pretty much put Knecht on the map.  I'd rather have a real game but I'll be more likely to tune into this than our 3rd actual game against  NW Mankato tech.

Yeah that would be awesome. A game against Marian? I fail to see the benefit.

Pat Knight being the Marian coach probably has a lot to do with the game being scheduled.

Then why'd we play them last year? Why'd we play UIndy?

Knight wasn’t their coach last year and who knows, maybe scheduling or something else was a factor. Bigger picture…who cares who we play in a meaningless practice scrimmage.

I do lol

But, that wasn't really ever my issue, Idk why we have 2 scrimmages to begin with.

Why do you care if we play two exhibition games because it doesn't effect the regular season in any way.

MLB plays 30 spring training games

NFL 3 pre season games it use to be 6 at one time.

NBA plays 6 pre season games.

I am just confused why this would bother anyone

NBA starts their season, they start their season. They don't play multiple poop teams after the exhibitions-- the same with MLB, the same with NFL.

I just don't find any enjoyment in watching us play Eastern ILL/Sam Houston St/SIUE/UNC Greensboro/Miami OH/Chattanooga/Winthrop ...after we just got done scrimmaging Marian, after we just got done scrimmaging Tennessee.

All I got. To each their own.
