And if she is content at IU Ladies keeping things in perspective there is no reason to transfer. Options: 1. go to a lesser program 2. Drop a level to a mid major 3. Or just stay put and be happy (sounds good really, and probably the best option). Though some do find success and happiness….many of these transfer portal players don’t find success and happiness nor do they accomplish much. Bottom line you have to be good enough. Quote

Starting PG and C a must in portal. Chris007 1 Quote

Would be great to get her back but it doesn’t bother me as much. Chris007 1 Quote

Like Painter she wants people who fit her system and generally the top players won't. Ask Steve Pikiell about that:). Never go away from what works in name of elite talent which both Painter and Pikiell have shown definitively makes it worse when tried. Don't need Moren to do that experiment. Quote

Not sure depending on how things shake out if another small guard is wanted. This one might be worthwhile…..along with Clara Silva/KY (no contact meaning she already has idea or agent is handling things). Problem solving Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 25 Author Posted March 25 And Meister is gone. Indiana junior forward Lilly Meister has entered the portal, per source. Meister averaged 6.7 points and 3.5 rebounds per game last year for Indiana. Chris007 and LamarCheeks 2 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Are these really "significant losses?" Maybe when you consider we're already losing Striplin, Chloe and Sydney ... Still, I thought all regressed this past season after showing promise to varying degrees previously. Not sure whether that's on them -- or CTM. Probably a bit of both. Quote
maharkn Posted March 25 Posted March 25 OuchI don’t see this as a bad thing. To much of a liability on the offensive side Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
TTT Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Maybe, 20 wins and just making March Madness isn’t quite good enough Need to keep Garzon and Shay with incoming freshman….and they need high level teammates to pass the ball to and for those high level teammates to pass the ball to them……Maryland revamped their roster last year. To much of a liability on the offensive side Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Well here is my take. Pre portal I had guessed the lineup would have looked something like this. Shay/Beau/Garzon, a portal pickup at the 5 and 4, with caffey and maya receiving quality minutes. Caffey’s floor game is really solid. Garzon with another year of strength training can give you versatility at the 4 spot. I think a dark horse in this rotation could be Valentyna. A very late start to the season put her behind the 8 ball, especially being from overseas so terminology and other things are a factor, but it was easy to tell in mop up minutes that she has the build to play and a pure jumper. I expected wiseman, who has seemed to bulk up during the season to progress and battle for meister’s minutes. Meister and Lexi are at their ceiling in my opinion. I thank them for the contributions to the program and wish them luck. Lexi is a great defender, but it isn’t like her offense was going to magically come around. It doesn’t help your team when teams are willing to sag off of a guard by 5 feet at the 3 point line. Jules had some moments, but never really looked like she got it. I wish her the best as well, but she just looked like making videos and being the class clown was as important as anything. Women’s basketball outside of South Carolina and a select few have a narrow rotation, so as long as we can do due diligence in the portal and get a couple, and our incoming freshman who are rated as high as any we’ve ever had can play we will be just fine, and probably better than this season.
