LamarCheeks Posted May 3, 2024 Posted May 3, 2024 Our little sisters to the north pick up a transfer from Akron ... 6-1 forward Reagan Bass. Looks as if she'll have one year of eligibility left. https://x.com/TaliaGoodmanWBB/status/1786156970170368294 ALASKA HOOSIER and Class of '66 Old Fart 2 Quote
TTT Posted May 5, 2024 Posted May 5, 2024 Looks like IU Ladies are set with a 13 player roster for 2024-2025. T. Moren holding true as player and team development philosophy with transfer portal playing its role (Ciezki and Striplin for this year)…..IU Ladies team stability…. individual player and team development will need to take a giant step for 2024-2025. Potential is definitely there for an under the radar surprisingly successful first half of the season and a strong finish for 2024-2025 upcoming season. Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 19 Author Posted March 19 Wonder if the Purdue AD is kicking himself for extending Katie Geralds Jayla Smith the latest to announce she's portaling. 6' guard originally played at Lawrence North HS. No real loss for them as she was a bench player her whole time at PUke and only appeared in 2 games this past season. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 22 Author Posted March 22 I know nothing about this young lady other than she's been a teammate of Riley Makalusky and Riley and Maya's mom apparently things highly of her. Quote
TTT Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Cristen Carter: 2023 Ben Davis High School, Indiana All Star, originally committed to Miami Ohio but coaching scandal led to Butler. At Ben Davis: a couple sectional titles and a regional title while averaging 18 points per game 51% shooting her senior season , school record 355 career rebounds. She is academically inclined….health science and neuroscience and medical school after graduation. Quote

LamarCheeks Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Would absolutely hate to lose Garzon. If she's considering, I wonder -- it it all about NIL $$$. Or are there other issues? Chris007 1 Quote

I was told that 3 players on the women's team were making 6 figures this season. But I don't know that to be true, just going on what was said. It was very low 6 figures Quote

TTT Posted March 24 Posted March 24 In today’s sports world teams can have the traditional culture of dedication and loyalty………. and nowadays there are more than a few (several) programs that have a 21st modern day culture besides dedication and loyalty includes NIL (money). NIL (money) talks and traditional culture of dedication and loyalty walks. In major college sports programs……The irony of it all and not as much on the women’s side but definitely on the men’s side the coaches that often complain about NIL…..were the ones that started it all by negotiating outrageous contracts to coach which now includes several years. TTT Posted March 24 Posted March 24 IU Ladies may have NIL issues for specific players now on the team. (projected starters) IU Ladies also have the issue of NIL to recruit specific high level impact players from the transfer portal to help specifically two returning projected starters…..or those projected starters could shop teams where there is more help (better players to show case talents). However, the downside is that a player could get in a negative situation (example: Van Lith from Louisville to LSU though she corrected situation with transfer to TCU). Both, Shay and Yardon don’t have an extra year to self correct. T. Moren is trying to thread a needle in this process. IU better get with the Ladies program and quit teeter tottering….Players (current and those being recruited) can see what is going on. Both, Yardon and Shay (like all coaches and players) they want to play on high level winning teams equal to their own talent level. GloryDays 1 Quote
