NCAA Women's Bball Transfer Portal

Caffey will start or get big minutes. She is really good. Obviously Shay. Don’t really have an option besides z getting big minutes. Beaumont will start and play plenty, as of 2 years ago she played 10 a game as a freshman. Phoenix is going to start. On size and position don’t know how Noyan doesn’t start. Spreen and makuklsky will get time but it will be a big adjustment. Unfortunately being an Indiana miss basketball doesn’t really translate to a whole lot in the college game, generally role players. Perhaps the duqenese transfer makes a push. She’s not gonna play more than 7 or 8 meaningful time, and almost none of the women’s teams do , so it’s a crapshoot after the first 6 or so. Maybe faith can make a push, I’d say she is going to have to for the year to be successful we will see

Yup.

I'd fully expect Socka, Shay, Beaumont, Noyan, and either Phoenix or Caffey to be the five.

I feel certain you guys have watched the incoming transfers more closely than I have.   I don't really have any idea who the starting lineup will be.  In my mind, the only absolute sure starter is Cizeki.  I am pulling for Spreen and Faith, because I'm an Indiana "homer" and not ashamed to admit it.  They're both here because they WANT to wear candy stripes.
Chloe and Syd are the starters for both Little 500s.  I'm personally happy about that!

IU Ladies definitely need another accomplished front court 6’2” player as one of their best players that as April 23 at noon they don’t have.

I guess I'm an old grump, but I can't get excited about a girl looking for happiness at her third different school in 3 years who bails on the last possible day of the transfer portal window.

Agree. Also, at a certain point, I like to think that we need to trust the people we have, and give them a chance . . . rather than initiating some kind of merciless and ongoing "survival of the fittest" where you bring in more and more talent, knowing that in the process some very good people are not going to get a chance and will end up on the bench.

Talia Goodman -

WBB PORTAL STATS THE MORNING AFTER IT CLOSED:

Total entries: 1,515

Commitments: 561

Withdrawn: 32

High-major players remaining: 112

That is REALLY sad.  Are those figures accurate I wonder?

How many free college degrees have been tossed away by kids getting bad advice from parents/friends/"agents"?

Are two thirds of those transfer kids (including Sandvik)  really left in the lurch ?  Unbelievable.

With Talia putting her name on the post, I've got to think she was confident about the accuracy of the numbers.  And I too was caught off guard by the fact that 2/3 are in a form of suspended animation.  Wonder how many of those will inquire about returning to their former school.

Henna Sandvik to Wyoming

Looks like a good choice for her. She could really get in there and hustle, but didn't get a chance to play much at IU. At Wyoming, she will hopefully have a central role, and I think she will do well. Same conference as Lex.

I don’t feel like the university does themselves many favors with the women’s program with just a general lack of a media presence, social media,  and the couple writers that occasionally do things are pretty uninformed most the of the time and cringy. And some of it could be on the coach, not sure how it all works. Feel like on a campus of over 40,000 in a basketball state some of that would be pretty easy to get a couple of kids to do some of that.

According to Talia Goodman on Austin Render's Dribble Drive Show on Back Home Network, IU is in mix with Iowa for UCF star freshman Emely Rodriguez:

https://www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/player/_/id/5239475/emely-rodriguez

Said a few other things of minor interest (she loves addition of Socka, Phoenix and Jerni but unsure how team fits as whole which I think we all would agree with) but that was most noteworthy by far about Rodriguez who would be best player IU has gotten this offseason so far.

IU gives far better coverage to its women's program that 90% of schools. It could absolutely be better but there is more support and coverage here then the vast majority.

Just need to get NIL and recruiting up a bit (which hopefully this new Alabama assistant will help) and hopefully that is coming now that Moren gets how important this is as I talked about previously.

Couple years ago Peterson to UCF from IU and now to Ole Miss and now trying for ER from UCF.  Sounds about right.

Kitts to Ohio State. (not Chloe/the one from SC).  But her sister.
