Fire Coach Woodson Thread

Recommended Posts

I see we are playing all the hits today lol. Was it Sampson’s fault or IU’s? How does Bloomington club soccer impact Brad Stevens decision to come home? Does his wife prefer Boston to Bloomington? Next we will rehash all the ways Crean can’t beat a 2-3 zone lol. Man I wish we had a program that made this year’s team worth talking about.

Just wait til Woodson takes down Miami of Ohio his and very goominrsota team. He will be the talk of the town. Just doing his job.

I wouldn’t be opposed to Stevens but his decision to leave college for the nba and then his decision to leave coaching for a management role tells me he isn’t sold on being a college coach and we need someone that is all in, 100%, willlijg to go to work in the dark and come home in the dark like Cig

Idk about Stevens at this point. He’s obviously super smart but I thought one of his main reasons for going to the NBA was that he hated college recruiting. I can’t see him wanting to play this game.

From a Football perspective (soccer to you animals), high school is not really a place to make your mark if you want to be a professional anymore.  If anything lot’s of academies asking players not to join high school teams.  I would imaging that if kids want to play for their high school it won’t really matter from one school to the next.

I agree for the most part club soccer is where college coaches recruit but playing high school soccer seems to differ state by state.  In Indiana several of the top girls played both and went on to play D1.  The Girls Academy League which is maybe the 2nd strongest national division was formed to allow girls to play both.  Coaching in Bloomington would allow you to live near Center Grove too if playing in HS mattered

Just saw this... so I'm linking it here and dedicating it to Steuben and AH and all the others who called out those wanting IU to lose to allow us to rid ourselves of Mediocre Mike "Bigfoot" Woodson...

Checking into this thread to see a discussion about the daughter of Brad Stevens and why Bloomington club soccer could be a deterrent.

We are so ******* back.

They are now talking about helicopters for Steven's daughter commute for club soccer.  I think we found the secret sauce.  I'm calling it now Brad "FING" Stevens will no longer be a Masshole LET'S FING GO he is going to be a Hoosier!!!

There's lots of things going for IU and getting them back in the state. All the donor's and other people need to stay away. Leave it to Dolson to negotiate. Everyone else needs to just hand over the money and shut up. Everyone knows too that Buckner was pulling strings to make sure Woodson ended up with the job too and he's soon to be out of the picture.

Hopefully this is true. You never know what the new governor might do... Mike Braun is a grad of Wabash College and an has MBA from Harvard... at least he's not a Purdue guy bent on screwing IU over...

FWIW, Cig has repeatedly said that his interactions with IU leading up to his hire were with two people; Scott Dolson and Pam Whitten.

Those two are a great choice as the entire IU negotiating team.

That was probably for two reasons:

  1. Buckner knows even less about football than he does basketball
  2. Buckner has no friends that wanted to coach college football

Either way we gutted the program and have cost ourselves 16 years because we don't dare hire anyone who is not an altar boy now.

Not every altar boy is worthy of sainthood. Just saying...

Woodson hasn't really recruited since he got here...

With NIL and the portal, apparently, recruiting is overblown... just ask Mike.

400k to a guy who gets spot minutes at best is a sweet deal. A Leal Deal, even…

You don't have to recruit at IU just ask Woody.

That narrative isn't true and he wouldn't have to recruit the same way he did at Butler. He did grow frustrated recruiting at Butler because is wasn't an even playing field at the time. It still isn't but now so many things are legal.

Yeah he probably think it's a rematch.  Woody at the presser if we win "it's really good to get over the hump and get a little revenge for our 2023 tournament lost"
