I'll take Little Al over Arch 7 days a week.

Not sure I agree. I did not like the level of zip on the ball I saw from Alberto in extended time last week. Everything else; leadership, decision-making, mobility, accuracy? Alberto can definitelty be the guy. But on mulitple occasions he identified a receiver and the ball kinda floated off of his arm without the needed arm talent.

I totally see your point. My assessment isn't far off from what you posted above. There are several transfer QBs (we're playing one Saturday) that definitely pop more. Ultimately though, whatever the staff decides is what I'll be behind. I trust Shannahan, Cig, Whittmer and the boys.

Hope we land another stud QB in the portal. It’s kind of like the debate we had last year with TJ. A star QB just raises your ceiling so much. Just look at Michigan last year as an example of a bad QB situation capping your potential.

Not saying Alberto is as bad as Michigan’s quarterbacks last year, but he’s definitely not as good as the ones we’ve had the past two years.

Illinois coach Beliema was pretty convinced before our game the NCAA was going to pass the 5 for 5 rule. I don't know how that affects Wyatt, or if the NCAA coaches committee got that passed. Any insight into that? @Lebowski

That rule change is dead for the time being.

Witnessing what Cig and Co were able to achieve with Rourke, I think IU will thrive with Alberto at QB.  He has the talent to hone his ability to see the field like Rourke with much greater mobility; keeping the D honest and opening things up down field.  If Rourke had not been injured (and had a better rep as a runner) I don't think Michigan, OSU, or ND would have been able to attack the QB with the same level of success.  Well, that and an upgrade at OL.

BLOOMINGTON — Cory Miles is walking through the empty hollows of Memorial Stadium on a rainy Wednesday afternoon, and it's uncanny, the way he puts his hands awkwardly on his hips, the way he scribbles on the tiny notepad he pulls out of his pocket, the way he looks up to the skies with a serious, if not menacing, look on his face adorned with a big black headset.

It's no wonder what happened to Miles just a few days ago inside this same stadium crammed with fans for IU's football game against UCLA.

A couple of students came up to Miles begging to get their photo taken with him. They couldn't believe they were standing that close to their coach.

Miles quickly realized what was happening, so he leaned over and whispered to one of those students, not to cause embarrassment, "You know I'm not really coach Cignetti, right?" Turns out, they did not.

And that remarkable resemblance Miles has to IU coach Curt Cignetti is what has catapulted this married, 44-year-old Air Force veteran and father of three into the viral throes of social media as one of college football's most popular characters: The Curt Cignetti impersonator.
