Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 4-star Chance Mallory attends St. Anne's-Belfield HS in Charlottesville, VA. Played AAU on Team Thrill (Derik Queen teammate) on the UAA circuit. Listed as 5'9" which certainly goes against the grain of Woody wanting length on the court. @_ChanceMallory 247 Rivals On3 Hudl MaxPreps Quote

Demo Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 Well, this is interesting. Was originally a ‘24 who re-classed to ‘25. Wonder if they’re looking at him as a ‘24? Class of '66 Old Fart and Stuhoo 2 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted November 28, 2023 Author Posted November 28, 2023 St. Anne's with an easy 76-49 win over Virginia Academy. Mallory 13p; 6r; 6a; 4s; 0b; 2t. He shot 3-5 on 3s. He's listed as 5'9" and that's not an exaggeration. But he's very quick and has a non-stop motor and active hands. He had 6 reb. so he's not afraid to go to the rim and scrap with the big boys. NOTE: If you were thinking of watching at a later date, don't bother with the Nov. 16th Benedictine game. Turns out it was a scrimmage. Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 3, 2023 Author Posted December 3, 2023 Jamie Shaw on Mallory at the Good Guys vs. Cancer on Saturday -- Moravian Prep game stats in previous post. Chance Mallory is tough, both physically and mentally, and that really showed in this one. He was face-guarded the entire game and doubled on the catch throughout the game. The opposing team subbed his man out every two or three minutes to keep a fresh body guarding him. Mallory was still able to create opportunities for himself. When he is on the ball, he is good at getting to his spots at multiple levels of the court. He has a smooth shooting stroke and range that extends out to 30 feet. He is also comfortable rising up in the mid-range, with a release point that does not change. Defensively, he is strong and able to get under the ball handler. Mallory is the No. 80 player in the 2025 On3 150. He finished with 26 points, going 8-for-16 from the field. J34 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 5, 2023 Author Posted December 5, 2023 Watch Mallory (#1) tonight at 6:30 STAB vs Highland with '25 Nate Ament (#10) who holds an IU offer. Demo 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 6, 2023 Author Posted December 6, 2023 If you can, try to watch Mallory play. Always hustling, good hands, excellent court vision and totally unafraid to take it down the lane despite being 5'9". And for his heighth, he has a very good vertical jump. Has that knack of sensing where a missed shot is going to go and puts himself in the area to attempt to get the rebound. STAB led the entire game defeating Highland 67-53. Mallory played 30 min. and I had him with 22p; 9r; 5a; 2s; 0b; 1t. 9-12 FG; 0-1 on 3s; 4-6 FT. https://fan.hudl.com/usa/va/charlottesville/organization/682/st-annes-belfield--high-school MemphisHoosier 1 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 13, 2023 Author Posted December 13, 2023 Probably the only time we'll ever see Mallory in SSAH is sitting on the visitor's bench but my gosh is he fun to watch. STAB with a 79-71 win over Miller School in a terrific game with multiple lead changes. After 3Q STAB trailed 53-51. In the 4th Q, Mallory scored STAB's first 15 pts. and then added a couple more just because. For the game he finished with 35p; 8r; 5a; 3s; 1b; 1t. He was 13-26 FG; 5-11 on 3s and 4-4 FT. Through 5 games 26.4 ppg and 8.8 rpg standing all of 5'9". 4.8 asst; 2.4 stls. Less than 1 TO/game despite the minutes he logs with the ball in his hands. If nothing else, just watch his 4thQ performance in tonight's game at the link in my previous post. sweetpain 1 Quote
