Indiana 6 Game Mini-Series Package

Recommended Posts

So I registered for this a while back. Just got an email saying it’s “4 tickets at 260 per ticket”. Does that mean it’s 260 per ticket per game or does that mean a total of 260 for all 4 tickets per game? Does that makes sense. Like is the total 1,040 for 4 tickets per game for 6 games? Can someone smarter than me explain this to me please.

$260 per ticket, per package. About $43 per ticket, per game for those of us “sitting with Kobe”, as the kids say.

Hey Hova, are we talking row DD 1, or (yikes) row FF 16?

Dunno…like Nashville said, I guess we’re in the dark until after they have our money. Makes me a tad uneasy, but I want to be there so whatever I guess. When we bought the Kansas mini-series last year, we were able to pick our exact seats from the very beginning. Took me 15 minutes (5 of that talking to the wife about the plan) from beginning to end. This year, I’ve been in a holding pattern for a week and a half just to find out I’ve been moved to the balcony, and it’ll probably be another few weeks until I figure out where we’re even sitting.

The IU basketball ticket process for everything from the season ticket waitlist to this is downright strange. Guess when the demand is like it is for IUBB, they can do what they want. Just not sure of the reason for it.

It is $260/mini-series seat so $1,040 total (plus $20 processing fee) for 4 seats to 6 games.  The $260 price point is for seats in the balcony.

So that email does mean that I for sure got tickets to those six games right? Like I was selected?

That email was truly awful lol. If it wasn’t for the “your payment will be processed Wednesday” section, I’d be wondering, but I’m like 99.9% sure that your (and my) email is a confirmation that you got tickets.

The “all ticket requests were fulfilled” line IMMEDIATELY followed by “not all requests were fulfilled” is top notch ass-hattery.

Yep - they'll take your money Wednesday at 4 and send your tickets to you via email "in the coming weeks."  I'd keep an eye on your ticket account because often times your seats will show up there before you get the email.

This is what’s frustrating. I get wanting to protect the home crowd with prioritizing varsity club points. But if they’ve allocated the main floor vs. balcony, they’ve probably got seats pretty much assigned already. At least tell people something like…your seats will be in section DD in the first 5 rows. If closer seats become available via opt-outs, you’ll be moved up accordingly.” I want to be in the building no matter what. But mid court row 1 balcony is waaaay different than row 16 in the corner, and would probably make the difference between me staying in or bailing and buying on the secondary market.

Last question I think I have. Would you get specific seats, or is this like a general admission type thing. I have buddy who is saying he thinks it’s just general admission FCFS but I doubt that.

Assigned seats and the same seats for all 6 games.

Thinking about this some more this morning...

I'm checking my account at 4:00 today. If my seat assignment is posted at the time they draw my $520 (plus processing fee, brought to you by Ticketmaster), I'm going to be pissed.

Totally. I mean this (https://www.seats3d.com/ncaa/indiana_university/mens_basketball/#/) exists on the IU website. It's fantastic. The fact that they couldn't tell people which section of this map they will be in so they can make a much more informed decision is pretty lame. The registration period was like 3 weeks long, and then another week and a half before they emailed people. Seems the main goal here was simply to get as much money committed as possible vs. providing any kind of decent user/fan experience.

Unfortunately they do it because they can. With Kansas being in this package, all bets were off from the jump. I've bought single-game tickets direct from IU before (rare, but it's possible every so often) and it was a pick-your-seat experience.
