Watching this game on dvr (well, trying to… schools need to stay open for President’s Day) and those kids can’t enjoy playing for Underwood.

One thing I did see mentioned a few times but how we gave them an open look at the end. Which is true, but it actually was the right defensive play. We sent the double team to Mayer to get the ball out of his hands, which he passed to Mendez who was 0-5 on the day. You have to take your chances with him, instead of letting Mayer get it off. 

We're already in that survive and advance mode. It's going to be emotional tomorrow night for MSU but we can still one. 

I stayed away from the Illinois game thread for a couple of reasons:

1.  I don't like some posters during games.

2.  I don't like myself as a poster during a game.

1) rarely post during men’s games, and

2) actively post during the “everyone is happy” women’s games.

I really hope IU doesn't wait until the Big Ten Tournament...but I understand they're looking out for him long term. I am sure he wants to have some kind of pro career. Sort of hoping for either Purdue or Iowa. If he isn't going to be back until the Big Ten Tournament, it probably needs to be a reserve role off the bench...still an upgrade over what Bates is giving us. Just hope that he can come back next week and get 4 games or so under him before the NCAA Tournament Starts. If he can even be 75% of what he was I think that's huge. He's going to help on defense. Agree or disagree this team needs some kind of juice. He would have really helped Saturday even in a reserve role.

I still think the B10 tournament is too late, IMO.  That maybe only 1 game.   He could be ready now but I can see CMW not allowing him to play until Iowa at the earliest just because he wants X to make that grand entrance to receive a standing O.  I stand behind my original comment that if he doesn’t come back tomorrow night, there won’t be enough games left for him to get into game shape.  He probably won’t make any impact or very little impact because there isn’t enough games left
