My prediction is based on them having like 4 or 5 guys drafted. I just assume they come back to earth, but I admittedly don’t know what they have coming back.

Holy crap did they really? That's pretty incredible, and also a lot of production to replace.

Yes lol ... I watch the draft every year, admittedly, and in the middle of day 3 I was like "what in the world, how did we even make this a 4Q game against these dudes".

Could have changed everything. A lot of ppl also forget about our performance vs. Top 15 MSU, as well. without our top 2-3 corners, QB, and some others..... Tuttle sucked that day (not all his fault)... but we flat out F'ed that game away, as well.

yep. we win those two games we don't lose to Minnesota, Rutgers, and Purdue by a combined score of 117-24. I am pretty confident in that.

The team absolutely quit. Oh well...

So ready to be at the game next Friday! LEO

That game was GD infuriating. We shut down the best RB in the country and still found a way to blow it.

I also don't like that ILL gets to play a game this weekend before our first game. Yes, we get to scout them, but they get first-game jitters out and can make some changes. I'm sure I'm overreacting.

I'm not happy about it either, unless they have 7 starters that get injured, just for our game, of course.

You can probably look at both sides of the coin and be right. On one hand, we get to scout them and they have nothing on us with a brand new offense. They also will almost surely get bruised up a bit at best and even probably lose someone(s) to injury while we get to go in fresh. Wyoming is picked pretty low in the MWC preseason poll this year, but is also far from a cupcake, so don't be surprised to see Illinois get tested.

On the other hand, we're going in with a largely brand new roster, having only played against ourselves, and have those jitters.

I'd venture a guess that our staff likes going into this game without putting anything on film more than they dislike not getting to knock any rust off.

I think I saw where ILL was only a 10-point favorite against WY so it shouldn't be an easy game.

I'm not one to hang my hat on this but playing Friday might also be a benefit for IUFB because it'll be a short week for ILL.

Solid point, and I had thought about that, as well.

I imagine they are still pretty talented. Outside of Fickells first season, they've won 11, 11, 9 and 13 games. So they've been pretty good consistently.

They have yet to name their QB...and replacing Ridder will be interesting.  But Fickell is a good coach and they aren't easy to beat at Nippert Field.  Loud crowd for sure.

I watched Antwaan beat them over there when I was like 9. We ate at an Arby's before the game... I was pleased with that choice by my dad. I remember ARE breaking one and flipping into the endzone. They had a lot of brick on their stadium. Might be headed over there this year!!

Not to get off point but did you not have an Arby's where your from? Or what exactly made you pleased with his choice of Arby's? Seems like there could have been better choices of places that we don't have around here.

1. No, we don't have an Arby's where I grew up. I am from Brownstown. lol

2. Pleased with Arbys because as a kid I would get the 5 for 5 deal and HAMMER IT. 3 Roast beefs, 1 full order of potato cakes, and 1 apple turnover.

3. Better choices? I didn't care. It was a 2hr drive over there and I was starved.

Totally get it. We have many Arby's here in Bloomington & Ellettsville and I still kill some 5 for 5. It's more like 3 for 5 these days. But give me a roast beef with Arby's sauce and I'm a happy man.

Heck yeah, man.

My goodness... a road win at Cinci might just be what the DR ordered!! Shew. Ready for next Friday (even though colleges should never be allowed to play on a Friday).
