This season:

Illinois when Curbelo didn't play: 13-1

Illinois when Curbelo plays less than 20 minutes:  6-2

Illinois when Curbelo plays more than 20 minutes:  4-6

Illinois when Curbelo is not on the court:  +16.1 points per 100 possessions

Illinois when Curbelo is on the court:  +2.0 points per 100 possessions

Curbelo could have sat all 40 today and I don't think it changes the outcome. Houston is tough

Underwood tried everything possible in this game.  Curbelo not playing in the second half was noticeable.    Frazier will be gone and curbelo is probably gone.   Big hole at pg

Curbelo this year was like all the bad things about X with zero of the good.

He's the human version of X's shooting form without the results.

He had some good on the court just a lot more bad.    He had one of the best passes I’ve ever seen any pg make in a game

Houston with only one guy above 6'10". Gives me some hope for IU if Woodson doesn't find a true replacement for TJD. They are strong across the lineup so not a 1 to 1 comparison, but man do they play hard

Maybe Illinois should've been dropped to a 7 seed ;)

I simply don't think I've ever seen someone with so much promise as a freshman have such a horrible sophomore year.  Every single part of his game regressed.

I know I'm playing amateur doctor here, but I would not be surprised if he still has lingering effects from his concussions.

Jamal Shead.  247 composite 221 st ranked player.  36th ranked pg in class of 2020

These guys exist for sure. Finding and culturing them is the hard part.

How are guys ranked 201-220 and 222-250 doing?

Even Ivey who was like 80th or whatever was a big scouting miss. It’s always an interesting study seeing why they are underrated or over performing.

Johnny Davis at 164 and Coleman Hawkins in the 160’s. Mathurin over 100 although 247 knew better. Nigel Pack 132 I believe. Always fun to look back at these. No one else sticks out to me in that 200-250 range yet.
