Trent Markwith reported we watched the 17U Indy Heat vs New Heights Lightning game last night.  The 17U Indy Heat has possible players of IU interest in Sam Orme and Reece Potter.   Purely for information that team also includes Kaleb Glenn, Jeremy Fears and Dravyn Gibbs-Lawhorn.

Reece Potter is kinda interesting. 7'0" and mobile, but no strength and no offense to speak of. Might have a higher ceiling than originally thought. Apparently things have started to click for him recently and he's starting to get high-major interest.

Xavier Booker (Cathedral H.S. 2023) finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds, & 4 blocks in a win for George Hill All Indy last night in their first game of NY2LA The Final Chapter. Went against 7’1” Top 25 prospect Isaiah Miranda.  Izzo and Mark Montgomery were on hand to watch.  This event does not publish box scores so any info we get on Booker stat wise will be via Tweets.

Terrific test for DeHawn Harris-Smith and 1 of the best pool games at EYBL, Team Takeover vs City Rocks. City Rocks has Simeon Wilcher, top 20 ‘23 PG going to UNC and Elijah Gertrude, ‘23 SG with a nice high major offer list.

Game is at 5:30 on court 2.

Has anyone written about how quickly we got into the thick of the DHS sweepstakes?

Haven’t seen anything, but it’s fair to assume Kenya knows a guy who knows a guy….

It’s a little hard to see on stream so I might have this wrong, but it looks like Walsh is watching Liam McNeeley right now.

Some notables from the Under Armour event in Chicago where the teams have now played 3 games.

Elmarko Jackson averaging 12p on 14-39 FG, 5r, 5a.

Jakai Newton has been quiet for a number of games but exploded for 24p on 9-11FG that included 5-7 on 3s.

Derik Queen had a double double in his first 2 games and a near double double in game 3.  Averaging 16p on 20-38 FG and 11r for the 3 games.

16U stats aren't being posted so don't know how Bryson Tiller is doing.

Xavier Booker playing in Milwaukee in the NY2LA Final Chapter event and this from his Wednesday night game.  Box score data for this event is not being published or I have yet to find the site where it is being published.

2023 6’11 Xavier Booker – George Hill All-Indy

The matchup of the night was between Xavier Booker and Isaiah Miranda – two of the top bigs in the country in the class of 2023 – and Booker’s George Hill team came out on top on Wednesday. Booker is so skilled at 6’11 and I continue to walk away impressed with his perimeter skill and soft touch. He has a quick release on his jumper with good mechanics and is really dangerous as a floor spacer in pick and pop, and as a trail big where he can shoot the three or attack closeouts and get to the rim. Booker covers so much ground running the floor with his long strides and can recover in a hurry defensively to block and alter shots at the rim.
