I hope he can make it to Coach Woodson's first game next Tuesday. Would be awesome to see him there in person. thebigweave, Hutch89, MemphisHoosier and 2 others 5 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 So this "General" character will be in attendance Saturday -- big deal. The important question: Will Tom Brew be there? Hoosierfanyuh, thebigweave, MemphisHoosier and 1 other 1 3 Quote
coonhounds Posted November 2, 2021 Posted November 2, 2021 Wonder if the general is getting compensated or if the players will benefit from the sure to now be higher attendance because of him? Thoughts?Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk Joe_hoopsier 1 Quote

He donated so much to the library system that was underreported or unreported. I'd dang near guarantee it coonhounds, Stuhoo, GloryDays and 7 others 10 Quote

I'd dang near guarantee it I don't have any idea if RMK will donate anything more. He really did hold the grudge that IU administration did him dirty. Well, they did. But arguably he did a lot to feed the fire. So, imho there was culpability on both sides. More to the point, though...his giving to the IU players likely would not be something that would be decided by him presently. (Assuming significant mental impairment due to dementia and his possible signing power of attorney.) He likely decided long ago about the disposition of his funds. Those that now have power of attorney may see a softening of attitude. I hope so. On both sides. I for one think that he has giving a heck of a lot to Indiana University. He has set the bar about as high as it can be set. He gifted monies and his endorsement many times over. His team went undefeated! IU beat the best in the B1G when the B1G was tougher than nails. He was a very good shooter as a player...evidenced by the fact that he didn't hit anyone with the chair. After all...he is The General...Bob Knight. Besides he really did make plaid the thing. coonhounds, ALASKA HOOSIER, HoosierDYT and 1 other 4 Quote
