That’d bother me less if he was actually a good shooter. But he’s not, he’s just a volume shooter. 2) His defense is tied to his offense and when he’s not scoring it’s a problem. But not in the usual way. Most guys like that get lazy when they aren’t scoring, but Luis gets kind of manic and undisciplined. I don’t know what Pitino said after the game the other day but I doubt he subbed him for shooting 1 for a million. I think he subbed him because his defense got unplayable. I just think he’s a hard guy to win with if he’s your best player, and he’ll get paid that way, I just don’t know how that’s gonna go if you’re not a Rick Pitino. akumanina, lillurk, go iu bb and 3 others 5 1 Quote

Makes a lot of sense... I agree. FWIW this is what Pitino said post game. Q: Rick, you had RJ on the bench for a pretty long stretch at the end was that just because he wasn’t making them or was there something more to it. A: He played 30 minutes. That’s a long time. Reporter: So he was tired? Pitino: No. He played 30 minutes and I went with other people. You already know the answers Roger, you’re asking leading questions. You already know it. So don’t ask leading questions. You already know why he didn’t play. OK. Reporter: Was there one play with RJ that made you sit him the last 5 minutes? Pitino: You know he was 3-17 you know he was 0-3 so you’re answering your own question. I’m not gonna knock one of my own players. Supports both your points about being a shot hunter and it being hard to win with him as your best player when that's not falling. Somebody else can give him the bag. Very excited to see who CDD has us rolling with. lillurk, JF87 and AZ Hoosier 3 Quote

Gonna have to be someone with deep pockets because I imagine he’ll be asking for Donovan Dent money. I think he’s from south Florida, so maybe if Miami wants to make a splash with their new HC someone down there writes the check. Suppose Texas could do it and Miller certainly saw him up close. But more likely KU or someone like that. The one I think it wouldn’t be is UK. Bad scheme fit. WayneFleekHoosier and lillurk 2 Quote
Ron Mexico Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Can’t stand Calipari but I can never not laugh at his intro press conference. Seems fairly familiar at the moment. Plenty of hope knowing Cal took an underperforming Arkansas team to the Sweet 16 that really should still be playing. Need Conwell. Where does he land?!? Some coaches even made it clear before the transfer portal that scholarships were 1 year commitments on the school's part. Crean's time at IU comes to mind. We even named pushing someone to transfer to get another player after him. So if the schools have performance based loyalty, it makes sense that players would have financially based loyalty. thebigweave and Uspshoosier 2 Quote

My biggest concern is the exploitation of someone in their late teens and early twenties. The aau scene is terrible now, some are pretty upstanding but the majority are street agents. Quote
