Points are awarded to the winning team in each of the schools' 20 shared sports. If the two teams do not meet during the regular season, the higher finisher at the Big Ten Championships is the point winner. In the case of ties, both teams get half a point.

After last night's doubleheader split in softball we have secured at a minimum a tie for the 23-24 season and the cup will remain with us as result of having won it last year. Next opportunity to secure the outright win is this coming weekend with both women's golf and women's tennis on the schedule.

Women's tennis lost to PUke on Friday so the current score is 10-5. Women's golf will conclude tomorrow. Through 2 rounds, Hoosiers are in 2nd place overall at 3 under. PUke is in 4th overall at 5 over. So heading into tomorrow's final round, we hold an 8 stroke edge.

If those guys from Purdue aren't going to even try to have a complete athletic program, maybe we need to change the governor's cup to a school more competitive like Ball State.

This year's competition has been over for awhile but it's nice to rub salt in a wound. Hoosier baseball squad rallied in the 9th to take a 5-4 win today over the Toiletmakers and win the weekend series 2-1 and earn a full point in the Governor's Cup competition.
