Game Thread: Illinois @ Indiana Tues., Feb. 2, 9 pm ESPN/2

Recommended Posts

This one is on me.  I haven’t been watching IU much because they do poorly when I do.  I missed the Iowa game and then I watched the Rutgers tonight.  I just followed the box score tonight until we were up 64-58 and then started watching because we I thought we were going to win.

He’s not being mentioned because that’s who we want. He’s being mentioned because that’s who Dolson will almost certainly hire. This is the inevitable result of Archie failing.

Exactly.

Nate Oats isn’t coming here. Chris Beard isn’t leaving the south.

It’s Steve Alford at this point.

Turning how? Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas will all be fine. UCLA is coming back. Indiana still sucks. Nothing is changing.

Duke, UNC, Kentucky, and soon to be Kansas will be hiring soon. One of them will be fine.. maybe.

I'm not sure who you are talking to here.

Really?  You haven't seen...

  • It's not his fault, the administration hampered him
  • It's not his fault, you need to give him more time
  • It's not his fault, the cupboard was bare
  • ...all teams do it
  • ...all they need to do is make shots
  • ...your expectations are too high
  • ...you don't understand basketball
  • Etc...etc...etc

I was gonna suggest that if anybody wants to watch some classic IU hoops, ESPNU is showing us against Iowa from 1983.

But we lost that one.

Bad night all the way around.

I’ve been watching old games on YouTube. It’s like a big, warm blanket...so comforting, especially when there’s commercials

Ooh that would be bad.

You should quote the non-Iowa game post that said those things.

For the most part, no.

For all those insisting we hire an "IU guy," he is a former assistant. Was on Knight's staff in the '70s.

And then, when he became a head coach, the criminal conspiracies started.

For some reason a bunch  of 2013 games have popped up on my YouTube feed recently. It's kinda bittersweet, though -- it's fun to watch winning, competent basketball, but sad to see that we had such a great team and couldn't even get past the Sweet 16 because our coach couldn't figure out how to beat a zone.

Fred Glass meant to say bottom 4 in the B1G and praying for NCAA invites as his expectations.

CTA may win a Big 1.0 title or natty in spite of all the hurdles, but this hire will be Cool Dad's legacy.
