Class of '66 Old Fart Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 Per Jake Weingarten of Stock Risers, we've offered 4-star SF John Camden (6'7") from Archbishop John Carroll HS in Pennsylvania. Plays for Team Final on the EYBL circuit. Background 247 Rivals HUDL Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted May 17, 2020 Author Posted May 17, 2020 Alec Lasley - Outside of the state of Indiana, Archie Miller has started to prioritize his home state of Pennsylvania in the coming classes. On Sunday, Miller extended an offer to 2021 forward John Camden of Archbishop Carroll (PA), according to Stockrisers.com and later confirmed by TheHoosier.com. The four-star forward has been one of the biggest risers of late and has continued to receive offers despite no live evaluation period. The Hoosiers joined Wake Forest as programs to offer Camden just this weekend. He also holds offers from Florida, Miami, Syracuse, Penn State, Temple, Virginia Tech and Xavier. The 6-foot-7 wing averaged 15.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game while connecting on 72 threes last season. Camden's season was highlighted by a 37-point performance which included 10 made threes. Indiana has a crowded backcourt but doesn't have many true wings on the roster for the next few years. Camden fits that mold perfectly and is someone who could have the ability to play positions 2-4. His main attraction to many high-major programs, including Indiana is his ability to hit shots and stretch the floor. Up to this point, he is mainly a catch-and-shoot player. His next progression is to develop more of a pull-up game and the ability to create off of the bounce. Camden does have some versatility to his game with the ability to handle the ball and has relatively good vision for his size. Though his frame isn't necessarily very noticeable, his length more than makes up for it. Camden's sister just finished up her freshman season at Penn State on the women's team. He is ranked as the No. 84 overall prospect in the 2021 class. Crimson and Cream, HoosierAloha and woodenshoemanHoosierfan 3 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted August 4, 2020 Author Posted August 4, 2020 Probably a pretty long shot for us with this kid. Stockrisers - After making a move from Westtown to Archbishop Carroll, John Camden battled with some injuries that kept him out for some of his season but once he returned he showed why he's one of the most unique players in the 2021 class. He returned less than midway through the season and looked like his normal self, averaging nearly 20 points per game and had multiple 30-point games under his belt. This summer was without a doubt going to be a breakout summer for him, but, I still fully expect many high-majors to offer here. The 6-foot-8 sharpshooter held early offers from Miami, Penn State, Syracuse, amongst many others. During COVID-19 he began to train and really develop his body and that caught the attention of several programs that jumped into his recruitment during the quarantine. In three days this spring, he landed new offers from Indiana, TCU, Wake Forest, then weeks after that he landed offers from Nebraska and Memphis. I had Camden breakdown three programs that are on him, not a list cut or anything just three programs involved. Memphis: “Great relationship with coaches, play style, and system that would help prepare me for the next level. Big on personal development.” Virginia Tech: “Playstyle fits and highlights my game, I think I could do big things under Mike Young. ACC is always a big stage.” Nebraska: “Under Coach Hoiberg, I would learn a lot from a guy who has NBA experience on the court and in the front office, and their playstyle fits my game as well.” Miami, Indiana, TCU, Wake Forest, among many others do indeed remain involved with Camden who says that he has no clue when he will cut down or announce his commitment. His focus remains on developing his game and training. He has completed recent zoom calls with Memphis, Virginia Tech, and Nebraska. HoosierAloha and mamasa 2 Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 For whatever it is worth, Jerry Meyer is calling this one for Memphis Was curious. Not sure how much we really want him anyway. 6’8” and can shoot it but I’ve got my sights a little higher. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app ebridges24 1 Quote
