Class of '66 Old Fart Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 Still seems pretty iffy but the Indiana Elite club (Adidas affiliated) issued this statement today. ...Given these guidelines (Indiana's roadmap to reopen), we will be resuming practices on May 24th under strict conditions, will participate in limited games starting June 14th and anticipate beginning our standard tournament schedule after July 4th. Tournaments will be added in late summer and fall months. mamasa and HoosierAloha 2 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted May 12, 2020 Author Posted May 12, 2020 Last year this was a live period event. And the dead period for recruiting has been extended to July 31. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, both sessions of the NCAA College Basketball Academy scheduled July 20-26 have been canceled. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted May 27, 2020 Author Posted May 27, 2020 It is now official. July evaluation events will not take place. Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted May 29, 2020 Author Posted May 29, 2020 May end up just changing the title of this thread if this comes to fruition. From Evan Daniels - The NCAA and NABC are gathering information and looking into potentially scheduling Evaluation Periods in August, September and October, multiple industry sources tell 247Sports. The current dates being targeted are August 6-9, September 4-6 and October 9-11, according to multiple sources. On Wednesday the NCAA extended the Dead Period through July 31st, cancelling the July Evaluation Periods. Due the coronavirus the April and June Evaluation Periods were also cancelled. “The extension maintains consistent recruiting rules for all sports and allows coaches to focus on the student-athletes who may be returning to campus,” Council chair M. Grace Calhoun, athletics director at Pennsylvania, said in a statement at the time of the extension. “The committee is committed to reviewing the dead period again in late June or early July.” The cancellation of the Evaluation Periods have proposed issues for college coaches in the recruiting department, forcing them to primarily evaluate off of high school film and Synergy from last summer. While the three Evaluation Period dates are in play, the NABC is bullish, if feasible, on at least two Evaluation Periods in the late summer and early Fall. mdn82 1 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted June 16, 2020 Author Posted June 16, 2020 Glimmer of light there will still be some kind of evaluation periods this summer. ADAM ZAGORIA - The NCAA will vote Wednesday on adding four new live recruiting periods for August and September after the July live period was canceled, sources said. The NABC and the NCAA were both set to have phone calls on the matter on Tuesday. The proposed recruiting windows are Aug. 15-16 (Non-scholastic events), Aug. 22-23 (Scholastic events), Sept. 5-7 (Non-scholastic) and Sept. 19-20 (Scholastic). No October dates are being proposed. “As time has gone on and more and more information has been gained, it’s clear that we need to look at the future opportunities to create alternative events going forward in August, September and October possibly,” TCU coach Jamie Dixon recently told Andy Katz of the NCAA. The NCAA dead period was extended through July but several events are still slated for Las Vegas and other areas. College coaches will not be permitted to be in attendance but they can watch Livestreams that are available to the public. ElectricBoogaloo, mamasa and Stuhoo 3 Quote

No idea of the roster makeups and totally unfamiliar with a number of the non-Indiana based teams. The Indy Heat 2021 game at 4:30 is the one I hope to watch. It could have Wesley, Furst, Sisley or Goode but that's purely speculation. @Uspshoosier might be a better person to respond. HoosierAloha and Stuhoo 1 1 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted June 20, 2020 Author Posted June 20, 2020 Here's a link to the full schedule for tomorrow's event in Fort Wayne. Also, I may have made a mistake in mentioning players that could play in the 4:30 game. That 4:30 game is the Indy Heat 2021 Red squad which is not the same as the basic Indy Heat 2021 squad that could feature the players I mentioned. Sorry for the confusion. https://basketball.exposureevents.com/134732/2020-summer-tune-up-session-1/schedule mamasa 1 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted June 20, 2020 Author Posted June 20, 2020 Indy Heat won its opener 63-40 over Grand Rapids Storm. Blake Wesley had 12 pts. Luke Goode was the Heat leading scorer with 17. l do not look forward to facing Caleb Furst for 4-years at PUke and hopefully he'll go pro after a year or 2. He's going to be a very good player. They're playing back-to-back games today and after a short break will face Northwest Ohio in pool play. From the play on the court and sideline activities, no one seemed overly concerned about COVID-19. WayneFleekHoosier, HoosierAloha and Stromboli 3 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted June 20, 2020 Author Posted June 20, 2020 Indy Heat defeated NW Ohio 64-48. I tried to keep track of Wesley's stats in this game and I had him with 19 pts. on 7-9 FG; 2-3 on 3's; 3-7 FT; 7 reb; 5 asst; 4 stls; 4 TO. He was aggressive in taking it to the bucket but will need more weight and muscle to be that effective in college. HoosierAloha, taco corp, WayneFleekHoosier and 1 other 4 Quote
