Would Beating Penn St Of Knocked Us To Pinstripe Bowl?

I just realized this, but most likely if we beat PSU we are looking at being in the Pinstripe Bowl rather then the Gator Bowl if everything else goes the same.

Why is this you ask? Because if we beat Penn St. they are 9-3 like us and don't make the Cotton or any other New Year's Six Bowl meaning the Big Ten only gets two there.

This leaves us with:

Playoff: Ohio St

Rose: Wisconsin 

Citrus, Outback, Holiday, Gator, Pinstripe: All of PSU, Minny, Michigan, Iowa and IU have 9 wins so you would have to place each of those teams in one of those five bowls and given who we are its probably us relegated to Pinstripe.

My question is do you agree with my assessment and would it have been worth beating PSU if it meant being relegated to Pinstripe over Gator?

Agree with your assessment, however I would’ve been happier at 9-3. How often does that happen for IU football? I would take 9-3 and the Pinstripe over 8-4 and the Gator. I don’t want it to sound like I’m unhappy about 8-4 though. It’s been a great season for the Hoosiers!

I would have been worth it because we still lack a win over a big time program but the Pinstripe sucks.

We both would have been 9-3 and 6-3 in conference. Pretty sure they would have to take the lower bowl as we would be ahead of them in conference.

The Florida bowls wanted us all season due to all of the current Florida connections within the program. We still would’ve been in the Gator and Outback wouldn’t have been completely out of the question at 9 wins.
