Popular Post Walking Boot of Doom Posted March 3, 2019 Popular Post Posted March 3, 2019 "I'm done with this team and burning my remaining tickets for the year." Now I'm eating my words. I skipped the last 2 games. Wisconsin and Michigan St. The only consolation was that the Wisconsin game ended so late that I would have fallen asleep on my 100 mile drive south on I-69. For the Michigan St game I went to the shooting range and only heard the first few minutes of the game on radio. I put my ear protection on and was taking my frustration out on targets. One of my buddies texted me of the win and I was stunned. Had to watch the replay at home. This always happens when I turn my back on IU. I couldn't be happier for this team and I will attend Senior Day.NOOOOOOIf you stepped away, and we’re winning, it’s going to need to stay that way. If you haven’t, please finish burning your tickets. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app mamasa, southsidehoosier, johnsoniu and 11 others 10 1 3 Quote
1981Grad Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 I know. I was wondering if my Karma caused this. Could we really lose to Rutgers on Senior Day? Maybe I should just sequester myself for Illinois and the Tournaments. I'll pull my head out of the sand on April 9th. thebigweave, Class of '66 Old Fart and ALASKA HOOSIER 3 Quote
Popular Post Stuhoo Posted March 3, 2019 Popular Post Posted March 3, 2019 We may need to start a BtownBanners poll: I, for one believe that you should be suspended from fandom for six months, twelve days, three hours, and forty one minutes. But that’s just me. LIHoosier, Walking Boot of Doom, BtownBanner6 and 6 others 5 4 Quote

Walking Boot of Doom Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 When it’s not a great season, I’ll watch some of the bigger games but avoid watching trap games like Rutgers. All risk no reward to those. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote

Like him I am a lifetime IU basketball, IU football, and Cubs fan with season tickets to all 3 at one point. I know disappointment to the nth degree. Sometimes it gets the best of me and I turn my back. Strangely, I always come back for more. At 60 years old I'm not likely to change much other than grow a bigger nose and have less hair on my head. My father went to his grave in September 2011 with Cubs 2003 World Series tickets tucked inside his shirt pocket although he never saw them win it. The tickets were printed and distributed in advance of Steve Bartman's left field play. The Hoosiers were still mired in dispair until the Watshot on December 10 of that year. As a fan things can always get worse and always get better. I am hoping for better. At least in my lifetime I got to see the Cubs win the World Series and the Hoosiers win the NCAA Championship in 1976, 1981 and 1987. Now if we could do something about football. 1967 was before I was watching. Yet, I am still watching and "not ok with losing". LockdownD, thebigweave, woodenshoemanHoosierfan and 3 others 6 Quote
