Rough start for  Seebold.  Gives up 4 runs on 5 hits that included a double and a HR in the first inning and Hoosiers in a quick 4-0 hole.

After 3 1/2 Hoosiers still trail 4-1 but Seebold settled down and got UNLV 3 up and 3 down in the 2nd and 3rd.  We loaded the bases in our 4th with 2 out but couldn't score.

UNLV made those 4 first inning runs hold up  and our hopes of an undefeated season are dashed with a 4-2 loss.  Drew Buhr took over the mound to start the 5th and pitched 4 innings of 2-hit ball and didn't walk a batter.  We had 9 hits but couldn't bunch them together and left 8 on base.  Play Xavier at 7:00 ET Saturday night.

Halfway thru our game with Xavier holding a 1-0 lead in a good pitcher's duel.  Both teams have just 2 hits.  Xavier pitchers have walked 8 but we've not taken advantage and have left 7 on base.  Cole Gilley, transfer from Indiana State, on the mound for our Hoosiers.  Through 5 innings he's only given up 2 hits, no BB and has struck out 11.

And as I'm typing this, we've score another run in the bottom of the 5th and it's now 2-0.

Lost again this time in extras. 0-2.  Classic start for the boys.

Hoosiers lost 8-6 in 10 innings

Gilley was pulled in the 6th  after getting an out and giving up a double.  Grable came in and the game collapsed as Xavier scored a total of 4 runs.  Yarberry and Kraft also saw mound duty but everyone not named Gilley gave up 7 hits and 6 runs.  We managed 8 hits and Oliver had 4 RBI that included a 3-run HR.   We were sloppy and committed 4 errors and left 13 men on base.

Hoping to watch some more games this year. Hope the boys pick it up and get it together.

Down 0-4 in a hurry. Couldn’t draw up a worse start. But, still time to rebound in this one.
