Thanks for notifying me.

It's been hard to see that far down the rankings below me.

Quietly and in the background you have done a great job and have made up a lot of ground.  Alas it is too little and too late.   No victory this year.

Man, the trash talk among the leaders is really soft this year.  Bunch of pansies!

Usually don't like to engage with my inferiors.  Just make them feel even worse about their inability to keep up.  But now I'm upset.  Who are you calling a pansy - pansy.  We may need to meet at dawn to settle this gentlemanly dispute.

Sorry.  I'm retired and don't get up until 9:00 am but go ahead and feel free to start without me.

My calculations of IU's best five wins and worst five losses, based on the chance that the last at large bid in the tournament would win the game:

Best wins:

at Purdue:  13% chance to win

at Xavier:  23% chance to win

Purdue:  32% chance to win

at Illinois:  32% chance to win

at Michigan:   35% chance to win

Worst losses:

Northwestern:  64% chance to win

Iowa:  53% chance to win

at Penn State:  38% chance to win

at Northwestern 38% chance to win

at Rutgers:  33% chance to win

For comparison, Purdue's best and worst five:

Best wins:

Gonzaga (neutral court) 24%

at Michigan St 28%

West Virginia (neutral court) 33%

at Michigan 35%

Marquette 39%

Worst (only) five losses:

Rutgers 55%

Indiana 51%

at Northwestern 38%

at Indiana 29%

at Maryland 24%

Fine by me.  I figure I'm the oldest one on here.  IU class of 69.  That means I'll be 76 this July.  Usually in bed by 2 and up around 10-10:30.  Of course that doesn't take into account the bathroom trips in the middle of the night or getting up at 6 to take care of the dogs and the cat.  They are my pick'em mentors.  I "read" their droppings.

Thanks for making me feel young again

:)

Who wins the arm wrestling match between you and @Class of '66 Old Fart - over/under on 2 bathroom breaks?

I’m betting on Old Fart. Sleeping in that bathtub gives him a notable bathroom break advantage.

Depends are a good thing!

Just realized Class of '66 Old Fart and I were probable on campus at the same time.  Maybe we knew each other.  At our ages it is so easy to forget.

No doubt we did since there were only about 50 of us on campus in 1866.

I'm a retired history teacher.  Always told my students I knew Abraham Lincoln.  Does that count?  I do know quite a bit about him.

You going to tell me you helped dig the well for the well house?  Did buffalo still roam the campus back then?  No, wait, you were around to pump up the first basketball for the Hoosiers.  I give up.  You are older than me, but we are both still older than dust.

This seems to backup my thought purdoodoo was steadier than us while we had the win/lose to anybody.

Do you have the numbers on games we should have won easily but squeaked out? Thinking mostly about the Minny game.
