That was the morning game. They played Ben Davis in the final of that regional. Nunge was a beast in the final 32 and 13)and was the best player on the court against Henry. Ben Davis had no answer for him. Alex had a solid game as well. He had 21

Thanks for the insight. It says on his 247 that he is '18 though. If he is '18 I will strongly pass even if he is '19 I probably would. We have our targets the next 2 years and the only additions should be if we miss on quite a few kids. I just dont see it. 

He will be a JR this year.

Wonder what changes we see from Archie for HH. He doesn't seem like a glitz and glamour type. Probably pretty much the same stuff.

I have said that Romeo to round out the class would suffice. However, if Garland wants to come, my stance would be different. I don't want to use all the scholarships for 2018, but that would be one hell of a class. To your question, today is the first I've heard of a recruit backing out. That probably isn't the main option in this scenario. Of course, Chris knows more on that than me

It was mostly just speculation of how we could get around the oversign if we end up with Forrester, Garland, and Romeo to round out 2018.  He wasn't talking about a sudden decommitment or anything.

The only thing that would make sense is if we get Garland I can see how Phinisee would be uncomfortable with that. He's the only one that would rethink his commitment.

Now the odds are that we don't get Garland, so I really don't think that's going to happen.

If we got Romeo and Garland I would be fine with using all the scholarships. They'd likely both only be there for a year so we'd still be good scholarship-wise in 2019. 

But yeah I'm hoping the recruit backing out talk is just speculation and the three all stay committed. I think they'll all be solid.

I'm not quite sure Garland is one and done. Romeo I would bet the ranch

A lot of board chatter has assumed or projected that some comments Arch made at his introductory press conference mean we won't use all thirteen scholarships regularly. I'm sure there are some years that's the case, but from a resource allocation standpoint, it will typically make sense to use all of them one way or another.

Yes, sometimes a late transfer or recruiting decision will go against you. But you have thirteen "chips" to use each year and you can't carry them forward to have fourteen in other years. Thus it's rarely optimal to leave one vacant.

Maybe you have reason not to make a four year commitment to a player who may not prove worth it. But there are other options: grad transfers, rewarding a Jeff Howard/McRoberts-type walkon as a senior, etc. And guys leave, too. Coaches know that's coming before we, the general public, do. So what looks like an oversign may just be wise roster management with more info than we have.

Anyone else notice MSU is stocking up on a lot of non top 100 talent for this class? Seems weird.

While I wasn't extremely high on Forrester, I love the approach Archie is taking so far. He just recruited an entire starting 5 for the 18' class.
