Completely different time too.  Bob Knight was Bob Knight for a reason, as a coach he had few peers, we could feel pretty confident that he would get the most out of the team. With Crean it's more of wondering how far the collection of talent can take him and wondering if he'll find a way to screw up.

I think most had a feeling and chatter was he was still Bob Knight, but we weren't winning another title with him. His disdain for recruiting was evident and out in the open. The game was changing. He wasn't.

By the game changing, I mean the way it was called, the way it was played, the way kids were recruited. ESPN changed a lot of that.

Well let's just start Gelon next game then!! I love the fact anytime JBJ has a bad game his hate returns and then he drops 33 and wins us a game single handedly and he is so awesome. Smh can't wait to see what Gelon can do out there. I hope it does happen that way Crean is out the door a lot faster.

I was at that game. Knight pulled the starters 5 minutes into the game.

The "starters" didn't play at all.  He started Uwe Blab and 4 freshmen (Hillman, Smith, Sloan, and Eyl, I think).    Knight wanted nothing more than to send a message to the "starters."

Wrong team those guys played in the 80,s. The Minnesota game we got blasted by 50 was in 1994. Damon bailey was the leading scorer of the game with 12

You're off by a decade. The linked game is from 1994.

Bailey, Evans, and Henderson.
Real talent in that group.
