Probably a sign that the beginning of the end of the knight era had started we just didn't realize it. After that loss they ended up making it to knights final sweet 16 with Indiana. However knights last 6 years he never made it out of the second round and a 6 seed was the best seed we earned

I was a senior in high school. I remember it well.

The chatter is very different now than it was then. Now, Crean tried to win. Then, Knight sat players, sacrificing a win to get a message across.

Don't get me wrong, I was angry as hell at Coach Knight for that "teaching moment". However there's a big difference in a team that had an off night and a team that had a typical night.

Completely different time too.  Bob Knight was Bob Knight for a reason, as a coach he had few peers, we could feel pretty confident that he would get the most out of the team. With Crean it's more of wondering how far the collection of talent can take him and wondering if he'll find a way to screw up.

I think most had a feeling and chatter was he was still Bob Knight, but we weren't winning another title with him. His disdain for recruiting was evident and out in the open. The game was changing. He wasn't.

By the game changing, I mean the way it was called, the way it was played, the way kids were recruited. ESPN changed a lot of that.

Well let's just start Gelon next game then!! I love the fact anytime JBJ has a bad game his hate returns and then he drops 33 and wins us a game single handedly and he is so awesome. Smh can't wait to see what Gelon can do out there. I hope it does happen that way Crean is out the door a lot faster.

The "starters" didn't play at all.  He started Uwe Blab and 4 freshmen (Hillman, Smith, Sloan, and Eyl, I think).    Knight wanted nothing more than to send a message to the "starters."
