Random IUWBB Recruiting

Does anyone know or have an opinion why Aaliyah Guyton seemed to never be in IU Ladies recruiting plans?  At 5’8.” (Shorter high level quickness point guards seem to be effective)…however it could be potentially lacking playing time as the “point guard leader” vs 6’ or 6’1” point guard….never really seen Guyton on IU Ladies recruiting radar.

I see where Chloe Spreen vs what IU Ladies have…Bama is better situation for her.  Spreen was on IU Ladies recruiting radar.

Her height

I get that.
However, shorter point guards do have their days …penetrating quickness, shooting etc…A couple years ago Arizona McDonald 5’6” vs IU and OSU a healthy Sheldon (5’10”).  Guyton 5’8” just never even seen her on IU Ladies recruiting radar. I know IU Ladies are going with taller bigger capable shooting guards….Comes down to playing time and eventually status on the team I suppose.

What??

What??  In my opinion M. Makalusky for 25 class is a much better player than a non ranking.  I think she is in top 25 and probably much higher especially by the time she graduates.

I'd pay zero attention to girls rankings. The "experts" lol.. are pretty poor at ranking the boys, I can't imagine they are any good at ranking the girls.

Also... when Ashlynn Shade transfers from UCONN, I expect her to be a Hoosier.

Carry on

Stanford series is great.
Rankings at the time of rankings deserve more than 0 attention because at the time of ranking is often valid.  Sometimes player/s  may not develop to expectations.

I expect a Shade transfer.  However, will IU want her as in will she be good enough or any better than what will already be at IU including depth.

Whens that start

This year we'll play in their house and next year they'll be in Bloomington.

It was just a matter of time.  Overtime Elite is launching a women's league next summer and per the story below, '26 IU target Jenica Lewis has already committed to participate.

My opinion:  I wish these glorifying videos on both, men and women sports including basketball and football would be outlawed in NCAA sports.

And before schools are posted on who makes a player’s cut limit to no more than 3 or 4 schools.  These players should have to cut their lists to 4 and probably 3 before announcing their final list before making final choice on committing.

Having these Final Cut lists may make players and parents feel SPECIAL are hardly Final Cut lists.

I rarely find UCONN on cut lists.  Even though not as dominant as in the past UCONN and now LSU don’t even have to fight for recruits on cut lists.

Anyone know how Fenn and Wiseman are ranked?  Do we have any other commits yet

Sometimes once a player commits in this case to IU player rating might increase a little.  Wiseman 93 at 4 star # 55 per espn.

Really have no rating on Fenn other than being a solid player (role player)

Maya Makalusky 6’3” shooting guard 2025  Fishers IN (S. Parrish school) is at least a 4 star or borderline 5 star in my opinion.

I know the staff emphasizes getting the right fit and people who want to work the tails off but I had hoped we could bring in some people like that in the top 25.  Still time for sure
