Not many teams expected to win 8-10 games are trotting out true freshmen if their starter goes down.

And you've studied that many other teams depth charts to know?

Yeah how many true freshman are in our two deep? Not really seeing this complaint. 
 

Only one I can think of is Byron Baldwin and that has more to do with Byron Baldwin being very good than us lacking depth.

We're an injury away at several positions from having freshman play heavy snaps if not outright starting. QB, LB, safety, Interior DL all across the offensive line, etc

Safety and rover have freshman as backups. Lose Fisher, one of Nelson or the younger Kamara are now in the rotation. DL rotates heavily, lose on of your starters on interior line and now a true freshman joins the rotation. 4/5 backup OL are R-Fr.

Baldwin is the only true freshman I see in that two deep.

Moreover, that thing is dated - Makai Jackson is listed.

Finally, there are tons of places in that thing where a different player is listed in the two deep for each position, but is not the true backup in reality.

• For instance, no matter which OL gets injured, Kahlil Benson will be the next player to take the field, even though he's only listed as the two deep backup for one position. If Coogan got hurt, Lynch would move to center and Benson takes Lynch's spot.
• Same with Isaiah Jones at LB and
• Same with Brady at WR.

Injuries are bad. Water is wet. 

Hopefully we avoid them... 

Except for the truly elite programs (maybe), no college football team could afford to start their second stringers at key / multiple positions and still expect to win at the same level. We can worry about that when it happens. 

Until then... all I see looking at the depth chart... is the most talented IUFB roster... led by the best coach IUFB has had in my life.

I told you it was a stupid exercise, you insisted it wasn't. 

This is exactly how 90% of depth charts look. Like you arent actually looking at the TE group and thinking that's a "deep" group because it has 3 SRs. I sincerely hope not. 

There are literally 5 DTs listed that aren't FR... we had a FR rotate on the DL last year....

Saw multiple coordinator lists recently... nearly every top 10 had both our guys on it... what a world we're living in.

Yes, now that Tyler Morris (not Makai Jackson) is out injured, we potentially will have a red-shirt freshman as our 6th most used WR. (Sarrat, Cooper, Williams, Jackson, Brady).  7th most used if Charlie Becker gets snaps.

Goodness - if this is the hill you're choosing to gripe and die on, we are in really good shape.

We’re an injury away at QB from being a 5-6 win team. I’m not dying on any hill lol. We’re extremely young and inexperienced team once you get past the top 25 or so players. That’s simply a matter of fact, sorry you can’t deal with that.

We have less FR in our 2 deep than Oregon, PSU, OSU, and Michigan. Thats simply a matter of fact.

The same can be said for the vast majority of CFB teams. 

Obviously, injuries can derail a football team's season. 

Most people just aren't anxious enough to point it out like it's a novel concern.

See, pretty notable change. You went from “true” freshman to just freshman, I’d say there’s a rather significant difference between guys who are fresh out of high school and guys who have a year+ under their belt at the college level. 
 

I also am not sure where you are coming up with these freshman from. 
 

LB? We have Isaiah Jones and Kaiden Turner there in reserve, neither of which are freshman. 
 

Safety has one freshman who’s in the two deep because he was extremely highly touted and impressed the staff early on. 
 

Interior D Line? Again, likely not a single freshman sitting on your two deep there, but as third string, sure? 
 

offensive line, once again, not one true freshman there, and you do have a few redshirt freshman across the board, but we have a clear top 6 there and versatile guys who can switch. 
 

I don’t think a redshirt freshman being in a reserve role is a red flag, every team in the country has that.
