Maryland really concerns me. #4 class in the B10 last year and this year. Our division is way too loaded. They need to swap Michigan with someone like Illinois.

I doubt they do that because the OSU-UM rivalry.  Penn State, Maryland, Rutgers all geographically make sense for this division. In the end, the rivalry that means the least is MSU-UM so I would think the most realistic option would be swapping Michigan state for Purdue or Illinois.

Maryland has recruited well for a while now. They have yet to show anything on the field.

Idc who we play though. My goal is to win the Big Ten Championship. To do that, we have to beat the best.

I don't know how attainable that would be being in the East division. We will probably never have the same level of talent that OSU, Michigan, and Penn St. have because of their football tradition; but we can definitely be a program like Iowa that brings in solid 3-star recruits with a few 4-stars here and there and can yield a strong team every other year.

Yeah I don't see that happening unless the recruiting landscape changes. It's a huge win just to knock off one of these programs every so often but to beat them all and outright win the conference, literally it would have to be a perfect storm.

Cool video feature from our training room: anti-gravity treadmill...

All this stuff will be moved over to the SEZ next summer, which will allow the current space (and old Hoosier Room) to be turned into additional space for the new football locker room/player's lounge.

My take for this season. If Debord can call plays consistently and manage the game I think he puts the relatively young offense in a good position to help the defense stay rested. Last year was the worst play calling from Wilson we ever saw. Granted it may come back to Lagow not knowing the playbook that well but still. The play calls were asinine in some instances. Also I was thinking about this today. In recent history the Hoosiers were awful against scrambling QBs. And if I remmeber correctly. We played really well besides 1 game last year against true dual threat guys. This popped into my head thinking about wilson having a true runner with JT and his backups.

I have not made it over for a practice yet but intend on doing so very soon. But a friend who has been to a few said that Ricky Brookins is getting a lot of carries with the 1st team. Does this sound right?

Probably. He did well in bowl game and showed signs. He's a hard downhill runner.

As soon as Allen took over for the bowl game, he became the leader of the RB pack. If I had to guess, I'd expect it to stay that way.

I'm not sure that is a good sign for our run game.

Not sure I agree with that. I mean in all honesty who do we have? All our RBs will play it will be RB by committee. I don't think anyone can say we have one true starting RB. If I had to rank who will be top 3 or 4 it will be brookins, Majette, Gest, and Williams and maybe AROD as 3down back or natee. Those are in no particular order. We just don't have a tevin or Howard on this team. But I think hiller and heart will find a good rotation. Hillers line has produced some good ground game in the past at USF and cincy. And hart did things at Syracuse and at EMU and WMU with not the best of talent. He's a good developer of underrated guys
