IUFB Offseason Updates

Recommended Posts

Will Cobb's bad decision cost him a chance to play against OSU? Anybody hearing anything? Some coaches treat off season violations different than during the season ones. Don't know if there is any precedent with Coach Allen. We were all young once --but come on--use your brain Simmie --and learn from this. We need all hands on deck to be competitive with the Bickeyes.

He's back at practice. I haven't heard anything on any kind of punishment. Not to downplay it because it was just a stupid thing to do, but it's not a real major incident. Hopefully chalk it up as a learning experience and don't let it happen again.

Yeah kinda just seems like a drunk kid getting a little too rowdy at a concert to me. Nothing all that serious. Make him run stadium stairs till he pukes a few times and move on.

Any update on Camion Patrick? Kind of worried about our RB situation if he isn't ready to go.

We have enough depth at RB. No need to be worried. We have Williams, Gest (coaches high on him), brookins, Arod, Majette, and some good freshmen coming in. We are deep at RB and at least 4-6 have prime time game exp.

Sure we have good depth, but which one of those guys have shown they're good enough to be a lead back?

Majette, Williams and brookins and even Gest as a freshman last year before he got hurt (fwiw everyone has been stuck behind tevin(somewhat) then Howard and redding (should have stayed one more year)

But also to your first point we haven't even seen what Patrick can do. Technically it has been all talk. Yes he had a couple of TDs and one was an amazing catch, but we really don't know what he can truly do at RB. Yes he was leading the group last year, but still we have no true game tape at RB. I am not denying his athleticism but at this point he adds to the depth of our deep RB corps

I think Majette and Williams would do fine. Williams just got named to a watchlist for most versatile player in the country.

Definitely want Patrick out there if he is healthy though.

If Patrick isn't healthy then I think Williams is our best shot. I think the kid is gonna have a HUGE year if he ends up with the majority of the carries. With the wideouts we got and the line along with HOPEFULLY an improved qb. Still think Ramsey is our best qb but we will see. I am very excited for this year.

This the kid a lot of people thought was a steal?

Yes and he had one of the highest scores in the nation when it comes to the Nike scores or whatever it is. sparq score maybe?  But a lot of the analysts say he's a steal maybe not this year but in the years to come. He already has size and speed. Analysts agree he probably should have had a higher ranking but her missed two years of football due to broken legs.
