(2019) SF Trendon Watford to LSU
HoosierTrav replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
He's a monster. He put up 33 pts. and 12 rebs. head to head against MSU Signee/McDAA Josh Langford.........as a freshman. -
This pretty much describes me to a "t" at this point.
-
. Very realistic

Considering how up and down we are, and how tough our schedule is, this loss is going to really hurt our chances of winning or splitting the B1G

If we can take care of business...
HoosierTrav replied to incrediboy's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I'm with you on this. I need to be real with myself. In years past, we would have found a way to lose at least a few of these games against lesser opponents and we certainly wouldn't have won like we did last night on the road. I'll take every win we can get in February and March. -
(2016) PG Devonte Green to INDIANA
HoosierTrav replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Green is going to be in the same class as OG and Victor. High level, highly overlooked. He very much passes the eye test and defense ALWAYS translates to the next level. He's an absolute dog on that end. -

Auburn. Teammates with Green and Rawle Alkins on the summer circuit. Elite wing player. -
OG vs Troy - Who Should Start
HoosierTrav replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Troy, OG, and TB need to be our starting frontcourt. This lineup needs to get the lions share of the minutes as well, imho. Colin has already proven himself to be a valuable guy coming off the bench. I'm very big on playing the best 5 you have, as much as possible. Yogi, Rob, OG, Troy, and Big Tom absolutely dominate the game when on the floor together. OG spaces the floor so well for Troy. Just watch how much more effective Troy becomes when OG is on the floor with him. That lineup has greatness in them. -

Agreed. Everything was clicking.

Me too man. I have a horrible gut feeling about the rest of the season. I hope I'm wrong.

What would be on your IU Basketball Bucket List?
HoosierTrav replied to IndyHutch's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Go to a big atmosphere game with my Son and Daughter. Be on the other line as my son calls and commits to Brad Stevens' Indiana Hoosiers Watch Indiana Basketball hang a banner in my lifetime. Experience watching IU with a once in a generation type coach. Go to a final four in Indianapolis, in which IU is one of the 4 participants. (Imagine that atmosphere.) Watch Tom Crean get an ovation as an opposing coach. That way he knows it was nothing personal and that we appreciated what he contributed to our program. See Bob Knight humble himself by stepping foot in Assembly Hall one last time. -
OG vs Troy - Who Should Start
HoosierTrav replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Late to the party here guys, but I think OG should start with Troy Williams. OG does so many things well, that we have to give him more minutes than we are giving him now. He actually helps Troy out tremendously by being on the court at the same time. It opens driving lanes and sometimes leaves the rim unprotected. This lineup is the lineup that I think can take us deepest in March. -
Article on recruits from McCarthy

I really want Thon but is he worth all of the baggage that he carries with him? I don't want us to drop our pants for him at all. -

I'm totally against this. You dont make promises you cant keep. Especially when you are the $3m/year man pulling tricks on a 20 yr old kid. -
The highest ranked braketologists have Indiana in as a solid 7-8 seed. Still not what we should expect. One thing is for certain. We are either going to REALLY bolster our resume here in Feb, or we are going to have a bad skid, typical of Crean teams late, and we could go into March without having beat anyone worth a damn. Every.single.year....Fans and the national media get tricked into believing Indiana, under Crean, is a national contender. I've said it before....This thread is a long way from being gone and it's not bc the fanbase is being irrational.

IU vs Wisconsin Post Game Thread
HoosierTrav replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The free throw disparity was sickening. I turned the game off after Hayes was sent to the line on 3 straight possessions. I knew how it was going to turn out. Proud of our resolve though. Crean did a nice job early on but s**t the bed late. -
This philosophy is going to turn into a even more useful recruiting tool once the 1 and done rule is changed. I believe that this will change in the next 5 years.

Great recruiting tool for parents who give a s**t about their kids education.

Yogi Ferrell - "I want a national championship"
HoosierTrav replied to Magnanimous's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yogi's stats are eye popping. Thats All American caliber. Too bad national media snoozes on him. -
This team seems really locked in. I'm going with the Hoosiers tonight. We have played a weak schedule at this point but there is something to be said about winning games that you're supposed to win. We are 7-0 in the B1G. The Indiana squad from 2 years ago up until this years team early in the year would have found a way to lose 1 or 2 of those 7. Defense travels and there is no B1G team playing better on that end of the floor than our Hoosiers. I like us +5.... If we treat Wisconsin like we have the past 2 teams, we are far more legit than I thought.
-
If I remember correctly, we were in pretty heavy with him. Came down to not wanting to be a backup pg.

all season.
